I had band practice yesterday and was the first time using the Orange Dual Baby with a loud drummer and bass amp. I just got an Orange V212 cab and so this was the first time using the amp and cab.
At 16 ohms, I couldn't believe how loud the amp was. As a point of reference, I gig with an Orange Super Crush combo and typically have the volume at 11 o'clock. I had the Dual Baby at 9 o'clock and was such a great crunch! I was using my Keeley Noble Screamer as a clean boost and could have dropped the Dual Baby gain down if needed (was at 1 o'clock).
Prior to getting the Orange V212, I had the Dual Baby hooked up to two 2x12s. Great tone but nothing compared to the V212. You guys were right, it makes a big difference even though you are hearing two speakers in each scenario. The low end was waaayyyy bigger but it is an open back cab so a log of sound coming out.
Really impressed with the Baby amps. If they could tame the noise a bit and figure out some of the occasional effects loop things, would be damn near perfect.
