OT Does it get any better than being a dad?

Sometimes they are a handful......
Heck, it can feel overwhelming at times but the rewards are immense.
For instance, it's the first time I actually understood the concept of unconditional love.

Absolutely Phil, as much as I love my girl, it cant compare to what I feel for my son..

He gets up in the morning and the first thing out of his mouth is " Dada!!", I go to pick him up from daycare and hes left footprints on the chest of other kids to get to me when he sees me and then he latches on to me like the face hugger from aliens. When we watch TV, he nestles in under my arm and grabs my arm to wrap around him, every time. And then , he'll just look up at me from time to time and smile and hug me. Its pretty damn cool...

I gotta admit that once I saw several of my friends having and raising kids and witnessed all that was involved from diaper to prom, my wife and I have been completely content with our 4 year old yellow lab!

God bless you good dad's out there, I don't think I could handle it. I'm 38, but who the hell knows, maybe I'll change my mind someday.

I have a 37 year old boy, a 26 year old boy, a 24 year old boy, a 32 year old girl and a 22 year old girl. If anyone doesn't want to have children I made up for it with my 5. By the way the two girls were harder to raise than the three boys put togeather.

I've got three teenagers, the two youngest are girls. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT ABOUT THE GIRLS!!!!!!

I have to tell ya, Ive done some cool things in my life and experienced alot of joy doing various things but nothing , and I mean nothing can even come close to what Ive experienced being a father. There isnt a day that goes by that this fact isnt proved to me over and over again. If you arent a father, its not something that you will ever understand until you join the parent club. Its a revelation, a certain clarity where you gain this understanding of what its all about. Its an indelible, unbreakable bond and feeling of love that you could never imagine until you actually become a parent. There isnt a thing that I wouldnt happily do or give up to provide for my son and keep him safe

Does not get any better....have 2 daughters (7 and 3) and although I know it's going to be hell when they get older, nothing gets me more positive towards life than seeing their smiling little faces.

I really miss when they were small...work got in the way of really spending time with the first one at the weeny age and I don't have a single bigger regret than that...I pushed worked aside for the second one!

Håvard`s 4 in march, and Ask is 6 weeks. He still hasn`t mastered the art of sleeping at night, so we`re "kinda" tired at the time being

One of the things I`m really really looking forward to is taking them fishing. I can`t say why it`s just that, but I`m stoked!

I caught a 36" Striped Bass surf fishing this fall and I have a pic of my son holding it by the bottom lip, that fish kept thrashing but he would not give up

I've got two boys.
One is 14 in high school (grade 9) and he's already 6 feet tall and eats everything in site ...and my youngest is 11 and in grade 6.
