I thought one of those Subway chicken subs was a "Jared" version that has lower calories?

Congrats Mark

Good on you for making some positive changes for yourself, Mark! Stick with it and it will all work out, just gotta get into the mindset that this is a lifestyle and not a "diet." Best of luck

Subway is by far the best weight loss plan in the world. I've had E-coli once and salmonella once from there and I certainly lost weight from shitting my guts out :D

Seriously. I had a chicken/bacon/ranch from there a few years ago and I spent a week on the toilet. Water came back out my ass clear! A full 7 days. I swore of Subway and didn't eat it for 2 years. Now I work upstairs from a Subway and couldn't resist the smell so I went back to it. One year of eating it and only a couple of stomach aches until a month ago... Salmonella!!! I got it from a seafood sensation. It only lasted two days which was better than the E-coli so who knows, I may get ballsy and try it again!

Both incidents caused some weight loss

Excellent job Mark!

I've been on a fairly extreme weight loss program through my physician since May as well. I am by far the fattest dude on Rig Talk (or any other board :aww: ) so this is something I need for future health reasons. So far I've dropped 70lbs, but I still have atleast that much more to go

Keep up the good work, bro

I dunno man, I know a dude from another forum I frequent that's pushing 500 pounds!

Congrats on the weight loss though  Good health FTW!!!

I'm very fortunate that I can pretty much eat what and when I want and not get fat. I'm 41 and weigh about 155-160...if I get above 165 I just drink less soda and don't eat anything after 7:00pm

Congrats on your weight loss! For some reason I thought you were a young skinny dude

congrats Mark!

It's not easy shedding pounds, but once you see the progress, and the clothes start fitting better, it makes things easier. I got to get my fatass back on the treadmill....my problem is the booze....so many empty calories!

Awesome! Congrats.

Definitely drop Subway. Low quality meat, fed with artificial hormones, etc. etc.

Congrats, its amazing when you drop even half of what you have that you can really notice it in everyday life, even getting out of bed is easier with only a ten pound drop, 40 pounds, you must feel like a new man...

Keep it up...

Congrats mang, its tough but more than worth it. I started eating healthy and working out in Feb, and have lost a lot of weight. Congrats again, it takes a lot of dedication. :)

I'd drop processed meat altogether.....that stuff is horrible for you.

Awesome Mark. Lifestyle changes are always hard. It's like you have to make a decision to be very selfish and not care what everyone else is doing.

I was 180 and went down to 150 (too light for me - 160 would be a good "fighting weight" for me), but since getting married I'm up to 190. I'm a big, fat tub of goo.

You'd drop even more if you lost the Subways.

How do you figure that? The chicken sub only has 310 calories and 5 grams of fat.

I eat a whole grain bagel w/ fat free cream cheese for breakfast with unsweetened Iced Tea a 6" Turkey and Ham on honey oat 4 times a week for lunch. Usually I'll have chicken breast or salmon(or other fish) with brown rice and a veggie for dinner. I use bragg sauce on the rice and just about everything else. http://www.bragg.com it tastes like soy sauce but no sodium. They have free samples available on thier website.

I started out around 270lbs in January, this morning 209lbs. I hit a wall at 230 but its starting to come off again now.

Congrats on your success

Good job Mark! It feels good to lose weight but even better when coupled with being in shape. I am not saying you aren't but it has helped me. Weights and cardio while drinking less and less soda is what has helped me maintain for years. I'm 37 and weigh 156. I run 15 miles per week and lift weights 3 to 4 days a week. I feel better now than I did when I was in my 20s.

Keep it up!

I just want to say that no soda is an absolute must. That fucking shit will kill you fast. Not to mention make you a fat piece of goo.

Good job my friend. That is a great accomplishment. I was racing motocross and crashed and really hurt myself and have been unable to ride much, workout, etc. for several months and my eating went down the toilet and Iahve gained a bunch of weight (for me) and I feel lousy. I can just now lift a little bit without my ribs killing me and look forward to losing some weight and feeling better again.

congrats mark! if you are interested in getting to 180 and being lean rather than skinny fat you should hit the gym and do some heavy lifting. Also, when you are going for the last 20lbs you will prolly need to fix up your diet a bit more, check out bodybuilding.com forums for some good infos.

I've gone from 220 in February to 180 now. Actually, I've been at 180 for a few months. When I hit 180, I started lifting weights again and now I'm getting cut and trim.

Also, cook your own food and make your own sandwiches. You'll be eating even more healthy and it will taste better to boot!
