Anecdotal stories about car washers demanding 30 dollars an hour aside, has anyone acutally studied the loss of U.S. manufacturing from an academic point of view? Does anyone know the current corporate income tax rate? How that tax rate works with foreign tax rates? What specifically changed in the tax code over the last 28yrs with regard to loopholes? How does "deferrment" work for US transnationals? Have profits increased for US transnationals that have gone overseas? Where have those profits gone, to the workers? CEO's? The problem is systemic and complicated... and has gone on since 2000. Everyone with an interest should do research and look objectively at all sides to form an opinion.

All that sounds way too fucking complicated, which is one of the damn problems. I'm glad all I have to do is write / troubleshoot code. What you just wrote there makes me want to puke.

It's not the code that is the problem, it's the people. I don't jive well with corporate types.
Few more years and I'm out.
