Oversized 2x12 cab help. Bogner/Suhr

Sounds good... for a 2X12. But it won't be the same. Bogner builds my favorite cabs. I've owned all of them.

Splawn does not have a slanted baffle, as stated above. Wish they did...makes them very directional. They sound good mic'd up for sure. There is a guy on thegearpage.net selling his black splawn 2x12 for $475 if interested. Saw that the other day.

Costly, but if you can grab a Zilla fatboy, they sound damn near as big as some 4x12's and i like their design. Problem is shipping is spendy. Paul told my $850 for one with v30's, $890 for creambacks.

That's a lot of coin and wait time for a 2x12, but they do sound great.

I've been using and abusing an Avatar traditional 2x12 for several years now. Added casters and a handle to it. It doesn't sound anywhere near as good as my Bogner 4x12, but I don't expect it to. It does, however, sound good enough for me. Last gig I played about a month ago, the sound guy gave me mucho compliments on my tone.

I think splawn 212's are some of the best values out there on the used market, mine just slays!
As also mentioned above don't overlook a 112 if it's a good one. I had a CAA 112 and it was incredible and got really loud. Great for something you will be toting back and forth as it only weighed 30 lbs

The Bogner 2x12 Oversize is a great cab. It does sound pretty big!
I wouldn't recommend it for live and portable situations as it is nearly a 4x12 in size and a only a tad lighter in weight...
Just get a regular 2x12. There is no point to me in carrying around this huge cab all the time... I have my OS for studio and home use only...

Angled/slant 4x12 solves that issue by pointing the top speakers more towards your ears. YMMV

The only problem with this is the phasing issues inside the box that can occur from the slant. Not a huge issue if you don't mind a little less punch, but you are right, the projection is definitely more prominent.

See, I don't get the "phasing" issue concerning slant cabs, they've always sounded better to me and I have heard cabs that have been wired wrong, causing phase issues. B cabs, in order to actually hear the tone you have to bend down to hear whats really coming out. Slant cabs you don't have that issue. And my slants are VERY punchy. B cabs have more perceived low end, but I get plenty low end from my slant cabs. I do own B cabs but gig with the slants.
