I might not buy powered pa speakers if I play in heat. My church has a pair of higher end Mackie's that we used in a 4th of July parade and they could not handle the heat and shut down. Powered speakers like power amps need to be kept cool, if you cannot get a fan blowing on them, consistent temps over 90f will kill powered speakers.
While I'd agree that you should keep an eye on the temperature, I don't think you can make a blanket statement like that. A rack of power amps is likely to build and retain more heat than a stand-alone powered speaker. I can't speak to the Mackie's or JBL's, but the QSC's I have were used extensively last summer when stage temperatures were easily in the 90's without issue. They have a thermostatically-controlled fan built-in that seems to do a great job. Naturally, we were careful not to pile things up that would block airflow, but they never got hot enough to cause worry.

I also have QSC powered boxes , although mine are the HPR series , subs and tops. They sound great but I also have a Yorkville powered rig and it destroys my QSC system. DESTROYS it! It was a little more money but definitely a different class of sound. That being said , I also have a Behringer powered system , subs and tops , and it sounds very good as well. Not quite as good as the QSC rig , but close and it cost 1/3 of the price. All of my boxes are powered and I can't imagine ever going back to a passive rig

If you're looking for passive speakers, I've got a pair of EAW's that have been great. Did a lot of comparison shopping beforehand (JBL, EV, Yamaha, Yorkville, etc...) and have never regretted the decision.
+1 on the EAW's, I have a set that has 2-15's, 2-7's, and a really smooth horn, they have been bulletproof for a long time. They will move the hair on your arms at 100 paces

our active turbosounds are amazing but weigh 70 and for that i hate loading them on sticks and i do worry when they sit full tilt in direct sun 95+ degree weather but i feel the same about our portable amp rack. at least i can place the amp rack in the shade and monitor them, but the powered speaks have to be where they have to be.

qsc k price wise, or jbl vertec if price is no object.

we use 3 way passive eaw kf850 efs as our main system speakers, and they can be had for a song now, but were "the" speakers on riders in the mid 90s-mid 00's and rock.

I don't mind paying up. It's the shipping overseas though for some of these that is gonna eat my lunch. The lighter, the better.
