Here we go again with the rock stars dying too young. Man, crazy. R.I.P.

Damn. Met Mr Big in 89 when they played the Cabooze in Mpls, our drummer's girl was a DJ and we got to meet n greet. Pat was down to earth like the rest of the band.

RIP

Wow... that is a damn shame. RIP Pat.
Let me take the opportunity to be perfectly blunt and say that every time I hear about another musician dying way too young it sets my teeth on edge and gets me thinking about my own mortality. I’m 52 this year and I’ve got two young boys to raise (6 and 3 years old), I really want to stick around for the long haul. If I kicked it at 58 my boys would be 12 and 9 and I can’t think of anything that would suck worse than not being able to watch them grow up and all that. Fuck now I’m all antsy...

/didn’t mean to make this about me

Great drummer, great singer and by all accounts a great human being.
RIP

It was reported first 58 and they changed it to 64. Sorry for the mixup

Bro I feel ya; about to turn 50 this year, and I have a daughter who is about to turn a Two a half. You gotta take care of the machine that keeps ya working. I hope to see all y'all cats here in another ten years for real.

Holy shit...just last night I happened to ask a younger drummer friend of mine if he ever heard of PT (we were talking about drumming styles and I mentioned that I liked players that have a certain flair with the ride cymbal which PT did)...anyway, he said he'd check him out. Now this. So sad. RIP.

A buddy of mine (not a musician, guy I roll with in BJJ) is 36 - had a heart attack. 100% blockage in his right coronary artery. Let that sink in...36. Got lucky and got to the ER in time but damn....I'm 43. And like many on this board....let's just say some of our past lifestyle choices weren't always conducive to longevity lol. Had me thinking about stuff differently for a couple of weeks now.

One of my wife's brothers died of a heart attack at 32 . Life can be short take in everything you can .

Thanks man. Last night was his first night back...light rolls but great to see him back on the mats. It's crazy...one of the earliest memories I have of my grandfather was him having a heart attack. Back then they opened you up. He had a big scar down the middle of the chest where they cracked him open. 35 years later...they basically poke a hole and fix the whole thing laproscopically. A couple of days later they've got you out and about.

His was the perfect storm....genetic predisposition for high cholesterol and bad lifestyle\diet. That's where I'm thinking that I've gotta make some changes. I don't eat BAD, but I also don't watch it real close.
