Paul Gilbert w/ Greg Koch, Doug Rappaport: Thunderbird Jam 4/25/26 Cincinnati Ludlow Garage

I like this, but man, I hate the lick-trading horseshit for 10 minutes before they even kick into the tune. This isn't jamming, IMO. It's look how clever I am with my fancy licks.
Paul's tone ain't bad, pedals into DIGITAL Fender Tonemasters. One for FOH, one for a monitor, as I understand. Wish he would lay off the slide BS as well.

That’s the one gripe I had with SatchVai. With how long they drug out the endings to each song, they could’ve played 1-2 more tunes. Wankery at the end of each song

I love the wsnkery . I don’t need more songs . I love each note as they jam and how they bounce of each other . There’s magic in fun in there . So much to learn from just listening
 
Those guys seem like they've built a good rappappappappappapappappappaport between them.

Ya that blows . Unless it’s zakk wyld . I saw him at Izzy’s last show in Ohio . I wasn’t expert much new from Zakk . But the dude played 5 straight minutes with the band . He never stopped EVER .he played so many differbt licks like a librsryy but with killer palm muting and tone . I was blown away . And I had not really liked a full zakk album since ozzmodzis . But damn he blew me away .
 
PG/koch are playing up the road in May. I am a PG fanboi, though I really only want to see him play Racer X songs. I am considering just going with the VIP thing to meet him. Have any of you done this?

PG has been my #1 influence and seeing him on the G3 tour was a religious experience, but this tour just seems like I would be disappointed
