I paid $675 for one that looked to be in about the same condition as yours a couple years ago.

Yes, there is no way it’s worth $1295… It’s more of an experiment just to see what happens… You never know you might get some guy from Japan who is in the right mood at three in the morning and boom!
Yikes! That doesn’t sound right… :D
Well, you know what I mean…

I’m doing an experiment on reverb, so please don’t say, ‘look at this guy, he’s nuts’! :D
I put it up for sale at 1295… I don’t think it will sell, but I just wanted to see what would happen…
I’ve got it out of my system now…
Have a great weekend you guys!

Hell, if my Soldano sells i'd pay that price. hopefully it sells soon

Edit: I am a bigtime EVH fanboy, so to have a time capsule piece like this would be epic. i know that the price is on the way high side, but i also don't care

Oh my gosh, don’t say that, dude…
Maybe I should put the price up, LOL

  ... I’m perfectly fine with the price right where it’s at, so please don’t change it

I’ve had a bunch of 5150 amps over the years. I bough a block letter full stack for $800. Still had the original Sylvania 6L6’s. I sold it for profit. Haha

Had a few others that needed new screen resistors, etc. They are really cool amps. I need to find another one.

Yeah, that was kind of dumb, I took it down, I got to keep it until I get at least the bias mod done to really hear how it can sound ...

So far the favourite power tubes are
1) Sylvania STR415’s
2) Groove Tube 6L6GE - close second.

3) Mesa STR440- far third

4) TAD STR 6L6

These Groove Tube 6L6GE sound very very good, in my opinion, much better than the Mesa tubes…
Surprisingly close to the Sylvania’s…
Now, the thing is still just pulling 11-15 mA per tube so the difference won’t be really as noticeable or as accurate until I get the bias mod done .

I just got one of these for $275 its beat but works. I really like it! I've had the evh version but like this a lot more. Similar layout to my loop modded SLO so I'm happy. Yes my bias is at 11-14. The set of sovtek 5881wxt's in there were from 7-15 so I put a set of wafer bottom sovteks I had all at an even 12 and sounds good. Wondering if it needed bias mod for 5881's? That's what was in there so I didn't worry. Hopefully I can use this for gigs instead of the SLO

I've got a very early 5150 that Peavey said was from the first production run (I believe they dated it to January 1992). Loaded with all original Peavey C8s and Sylvania's. Great amp, can easily hold its own against higher dollar models. Looks near mint too.

Clean. Enjoy. Curious to see how things after bias mod
