I wanted to make a comparison of the Victory Super Kraken VX100 and the Peavey Invective 120 for a little while so I finally did it. The reason I wanted to compare these amps is because:
- They're both high-gain modern metal amps
- They're both signature amps
- They're both (loosely) based on the og 5150
- They're both 100+ watt amps
- etc.
The VX100 is Rabea Massaad's signature amp and the Invective 120 is Misha Mansoor's signature amp, but I'm sure we all know that already
. Both are quite versatile amps with clean and crunch channels but I just wanted to focus on the high gain tones. What's also cool is that both amps have a boost function, so I also wanted to compare how that affects the sound with both amps. In the end I think they both sound great but I'd be curious to know which one wins here and why?
