The amplifier is 100% , no question , absolutely NOT Made in USA. It is designed and engineered in the USA , but built in China. I had a discussion with my Peavey rep very recently about this same topic. They have also changed the script on the back panel to say " Designed and Engineered in the USA" from the original prototype that said "Made In The USA"

On the pic i posted above, it says assembled in the USA. Maybe only a couple where assembled here? The rest in China???

If I preordered a made in USA amp at that price and a MIC showed up, I would be pissed. Hope thats not the case.

"Assembled" is such a loose term. They could've soldered up the PCBs with parts in China then chuck it into the chassis in the US and call it "assembled in USA".

Rumour's are that's more or less what the did for some time before 6505 officially became "made in China". They might've wanted to pull the same trick with the Invective then got caught by regulations or something.

At $1900 and made in China it would cost quite a bit more if it was made in the USA

Regardless of where its made man, I hope you dig it. Seems like its gonna be a cool box for sure. Give the juicy details after you've groped and violated it a bit :D

If this is Chinese made for $1900 I'm out. I was sold on a USA made amp at a killer price point. It will likely sound amazing and I do NOT want to sh*t on the OP's thread! I was excited when I saw the title but feel like Misha and Peavey straight up lied to push interest for pre-orders. Now I gotta go back and search old vids to make sure I am not lying to myself! LOL!

I am still looking forward to hearing 7 Stringers thoughts when he gets it for sure.

It's possible to make a 100 watter in the US for $1900, but not with all that bells and whistles...

I looked at a few overseas sites selling this amp and the ad clearly shows made in China

Now that I think about it, I’m not sure anyone confirmed it was really made in the US. I know there was a lot of forum chatter about it, but maybe I’m mistaken.

I’m still very curious to hear the amp.

I'm curious too... it has some cool features... curious if that direct out/mic cab simulator is any good too. Does that huge midi pedal come with it too or is that extra?

I read somewhere that California's regulations are very strict on what can be labeled "Made in USA" there, and that this was the source of the controversy. Since CA is undoubtedly such a hugely important market for musical gear, removing that designation may in fact be less painful than it would have been for Peavey to just not sell it in CA (like we see with many gun models). Fuck CA's legislature.

This is old news http://newsok.com/article/feed/829167

Peavey no longer makes much in the US anymore. There is some conflicting info about if this is really true but that amp amp looks Chinese.

Assembled in USA means everything, boards transformers everything was made in china, and they just screwed the boards in and plugged in everything else.

"Designed and Engineered in the USA" Is a dead giveaway it was not made in the US. Is is a statement to somewhat mislead the consumer.

Well you will now see the Bugera version out shortly since all the Chinese factories copy and steal.

misha was saying that for sure on sevenstring.org as he was trying to keep the kiddos in the loop. Also, I believe the Peavey Namm Rep said it too on a Namm presentation vid. Screams foul to me. $1900 for a made in China head is a bit steep when Quickrods and stuff are that new.

Wanted to try and like this amp, but now I’m back to being misled by the company. Are the new Peavey HP2’s made in China for $1999? Or is guitar production still in the USA?

I guess the peavey rep is confused here too at 3:22:

That’s exactly what I saw months back! Rep didn’t know my ass. It’s a bold lie for preorders. Did anyone of you guys that preordered get an email from Peavey or Sweetwater saying “we have a change in production site and wanted to let you know?” I haven’t heard that yet. It’s shady. Sweetwater should be lit up too.

AGREED

I was red hot and ready to buy the HP2 and looking hard at the Invective. I hesitate because of the Undercover Boss episode which was horrifying to see how they think of and treat their workers. I get sucked back in because I love the products...but there's plenty of other choices out there.

Holy shit. How did I not hear about that undercover bosses fiasco? What a total shit show that made their company look terrible! Those poor employees.
