This is old news http://newsok.com/article/feed/829167

Peavey no longer makes much in the US anymore. There is some conflicting info about if this is really true but that amp amp looks Chinese.

Assembled in USA means everything, boards transformers everything was made in china, and they just screwed the boards in and plugged in everything else.

"Designed and Engineered in the USA" Is a dead giveaway it was not made in the US. Is is a statement to somewhat mislead the consumer.

Well you will now see the Bugera version out shortly since all the Chinese factories copy and steal.
Most all of us know about his with Peavey going overseas. That’s why this amp seemed like a homerun. The Made in USA claim for under $2k. Since it is confirmed I am not nuts and that was out there from Misha and Peavey I stand by what I said. Shady on their part to drum up interest/Presales.

I am quite a bit feeling deceived about all this Made in China thing. Always got told it was made in USA, one of the reasons i bought it in the first place.

BUT....

If it sounds good, built like a tank, feels solid and has all these amazing features.......

Everybody was going nuts when the 5153 came out cause it was made in Mexico, turned out quite well i think, one of my favorite amps ever, still jam that thing all the time. Never had a single problem, except a fuse once but it was caused by a bad tube.

I think we will have to get used to the made in China thing as almost everything is made there god damn it..........

Yeah man, and like I said, definitely didn’t wanna pee in your Wheaties. I hope it’s killer and look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

Oh I do want to hear the OP reviews on the amp anyway
Sorry to be a bummer on the thread, I thought I was on a general Invective thread for a moment

It really is assembled in USA, it has been confirmed by Peavey and Misha.

Chassis is made in China, and obviously parts of the electronics. But the meat and potatoes is done right here, well not for me but for you US guys. I am happy about this info.

Child sweat mixed with toxic chem residue gives it “killer” tone.

Slide Chinese chassis into Chinese headshell and screw in four Chinese screws = Assembled in USA

All kidding aside, hope amp sounds great. Great features.

I am sure it will sound good, just a little worried about the tightness of the gain channels without the boost. The original 5150 is not the tightest amp on the planet, but i guess you have the best of both worlds with this one!!!!!

Cant wait for it to hit.

I read somewhere that California's regulations are very strict on what can be labeled "Made in USA" there, and that this was the source of the controversy. Since CA is undoubtedly such a hugely important market for musical gear, removing that designation may in fact be less painful than it would have been for Peavey to just not sell it in CA (like we see with many gun models). Fuck CA's legislature.

You don't like CA legislature because you'd prefer products to be labeled "Made in USA" when they come from China?

On board boost will be handy there!
I don’t like an amp to be too tight without a boost, I like to flip the OD on/off for different sounds anyway
The features here are smart!

CA ruins all sorts of fun, and says everything causes cancer. I don't know to what extent the amp or its components are made in China, but I certainly wouldn't assume that those asshats barring it from saying MIA necessarily means it's a completed product being bolted into a head shell.

Yeah, makes no sense. I don't like the misleading "Made In USA" bullshit, when it's in fact, not.

It reminds me of under cover boss ...they just don't give a shit ..

The link 7 Stringer posted was to a pic of my Invective. I’ve had it about a week now and it’s phenomenal.

The amp is, as far as anyone knows, and has been confirmed by a lead engineer at Peavey, ASSEMBLED in the USA. Understand that according to FTC (Federal Trade Commission) rules, companies cannot claim even that without significant assembly taking place in the USA. That doesn’t mean the circuit boards weren’t built in China, but it does mean that there is significant building happening in the US. But who gives a fuck? It’s a badass amp and, in tonality and in features, is everything it was advertised to be. If you’re that concerned about the fine details of where solder is applied, just don’t buy one. There will be more around if you change your mind.

Now. Onto the important part. It’s amazing through all three channels (with the boost on the clean channel I consider it more like 4 channels). The clean channel is warm and slightly compressed. It reminds me of the clean on my old Tremoverb. The boosted clean channel gets into a very nice low to mid gain crunch. The Crunch channel has quite a bit of gain and goes from a mid-high to high gain crunch...both being great. The Lead Channel goes from high gain to insane-gain.

The clean channel takes my JHS Andy Timmons pedal like a champ. The loops seem to be very transparent; it’s so amazing with my BigSky, Dig, and El Cap in the loop. I tested the boost on Ch 2 and 3 against my Precision Drive and they’re so similar I don’t feel a need for my PD with this amp.

The gate does what it’s supposed to. I only feel the need for it on channel 3 (or with the higher gain settings on channel 2).

I love that it’s MIDI controllable, I love the foot switch (didn’t think I would) and that you can put it in preset mode (which is how you kinda get 4 channels imo).

I’m running mine through a custom 2x12 with a V30 and a Creamback. It’s the same speaker combo the stock Peavey cab has, and my cab has pretty much the same internal airspace. It’s the cab in the pic 7 Stringer linked to on page 1.

Anyway, the bottom line is: If you want a KILLER amp that is capable of crushing high gain like you’d expect but is also capable of everything up to that from awesome cleans to great low to higher gain crunch as well..and if you don’t give a shit about Internet conspiracy theories and/or don’t give a shit that this amp (along with most other US amps...such as Mesa Boogies, which are labeled and priced comparably) has some parts made in China, then the Invective is definitely worth consideration.

Now this is what i wanted to hear man, the China thing is getting old, yes it matters, but in the end, does it sound good? Feel good? Built good? Look good!!!!!!

I just cant wait for it to hit my place, keep watching the USPS site hourly.....lol

It is in Canada now so it iw only a matter of days.

Damn you are fueling my anticipation Deadpool............... And i love it

:rawk:

Oh and i just ordered a precision drive myself, just in case......

Nah, i want to use it with my 5153 and Peters, they sound awesome with my TS9 but i've been hearing so much good about the PD lately, i just had to have one!!!!!

Lol. Right on man. Too bad you already pulled the trigger on the PD. I’m probably about to sell mine. :)

Yeah I get wanting companies to be honest but I just don’t at all buy that Peavey ever intentionally misled anyone on this. Reps rarely get all the info from companies, and I imagine it’s even less common that they remember everything they do get. Like the highlight shred says Assembled in the US, but when that rep is talking about it they say Made in the US without fully understanding that there’s a difference.

Anyway, screw that whole conversation. I’m done with it. Just get that bad boy and rock out!

By the way, I’ve heard of a couple people experiencing an issue where the amp just doesn’t get as loud as the expect. Not sure what’s going on there. I actually did have what I thought was a volume issue but I had a bad cable on my pedalboard. Once I fixed that, there was no issue. I just did a little test cranking it up at home and my SPL app on my phone gave me a 114.9 max reading playing the crunch channel through my custom 2x12, no boosts engaged, post gain on full, master on 8, pre gain at noon, full power mode, Fishman Fluence Classic Humbuckers. That’s plenty loud imo.
