Yes. Yes it is. With that said, I don’t need it with the Invective. ;)

Glad to hear, i wanted to try one of these since they came out. Had to sell some stuff first, a personal goal i put up.....lol. And it works. Ha ha.

Read the Invective manual last night and noticed the amp can take different kind of tubes!!!!!
KT88,6550,6CA7,EL34....

Damn cool. They should of marketed that as a big selling point. Most boutique builders rave about that feature!!!!
Surprised Misha did not mention this?

Anyone else out there who can comment on this amp? I just placed a preorder and should have it in January!! (aka January 2019)

I thought I'd give this topic a bump. Has anyone been using the invective that's willing to comment?

Sold mine, my 5153 100 watts just does it for me. I got the precision drive to boost when i want really aggressive tightness and it delivers. I think this has to be my favorite amp ever.

Might be selling another amp or two.

BE100
VHT UL
5153

That should cover my needs.

There is one amp i really wanna try and that is the Revv 100P. Might get the chance soon. If that one is that special, might get it and thats it after that.

that is seriously upsetting to say the least. there has been a ton of questioning regarding whether it is American made or Chinese made, and people have been adamant about it being American made. to see that on there is very disheartening to say the least. I know most electronics are made in china and i am not saying that all of the electronics are bad. hell my invective sounds badass, but the fact it was touted as American made and then revealed to be foreign is just bullshit

Just saw Ola's vid of the Invective and good God it sounds awesome.

it is a badass amp man, and sounds killer.

im still torn on how I feel about the china thing, but apparently the earlier amps were made here in he usa, and now production is being sent to china. misha had an explanation he just put out over at sevenstring dot org.

these amps are definitely badass though, at least speaking for the one I have.

When they just started shipping a few months ago, some amps had "Assembled in USA" sticker on them, and some had "Made in China" sticker on them. I'd assume that it was made in China since the start.

The $1899 price tag was too good to be true for an USA amp with all that bells and whistles, but it's too steep for a Chinese amp at the same time...

I really did not gel with the amp, at all. The cleans where really good, no doubt, even the dirty boost was great.

But the Crunch was way too fat and loose, boomy bottom end, no AC DC tight crunch here. The boost helped but even then, not my kinda Crunch.

Lead was again for me, too fat and boomy, needed the boost. But then it was squeal heaven, with low gain, was not able to tame it.

I am not bashing the amp here, just stating my,own experience. All the features are just amazing and functional, i just can't bond with the tones it offers.

By the way, i am not a big fan of the 5150, but i am a huge fan of the 5150 II. I am currently back to it actually, strait in, no boost and it crushes. MXR in the loop and wow. Still delivers after all those years. Bought it new in the nineties and it has only been positives.

Yeah man , I've been saying it for a while now. Having gone through so many amps the 5150II / 6505+ is sooo good it's nuts how you can get them really cheap and they hold there own with just about anything out there , at least for heavy rock and metal it's really hard to beat....I had an Invective also and was disappointed unfortunately , but yeah that's not to say other people won't love it.

Just wanna add something i came upon recently. Been using an MXR 10 band with all my amps for years, great results.

But i just vot an Empress Paraeq.... My god, what a difference. This thing sounds so massive and rich, crunchy. Brings a 3D ness to the tone that is not fattening, just bolder. Keeps the low end tight, and crunchy. Sometimes you loose a big of crunchyness with an EQ if you try and get your tone fatter. But this thing rocks hard.

Might grab another one for my other rig. Well worth it, when you find a used one as they are pretty pricey new.

Ok, that is all.

I debated for a while between the MXR 10 band and the Empress ParaEQ, and finally bought the MXR. I've been using it in the loop and it's a great addition, but now you're making me think I should get the Empress as well. Are you putting it in the loop? Any other general thoughts vs the MXR?

To stay more on topic, I've also been debating 6505 vs 6505+ vs Invective. I've read the 5150/6505 is looser with more low mid punch, where the 6505+ has more upper mids, and perhaps harsher? I owned a 5150 III for a while and definitely enjoyed it. There's probably no way to know for sure except finding an Invective to play, but you guys have me gasing for a 6505+!

I have it the loop, works wonders. Had the MXR in the loop also, or still have the MXR in the loop at the jam space. Gonna change soon as i just bought another Empress on Reverb this afternoon. Should have it next week.

I just find the Para more musical, less sterile, punchier and you can narrow your frequencies to where you want them, more precise. Plus, it has a separate boost, very handy. Been an MXR user for years, still like the 10 band, but i like the Empress more. Also the Empress is dead silent. But it also more expensive, will that be worth it to you? I cant say, only you could.

Just sold my 5150 III couple weeks ago.... Still have my 5150 II. Punchier, more aggressive. But... Less versatile, clean is a little less, no wait, quite equal actually. One thing i miss from the III is the blue channel, but i have my BE100 that covers that and then some!!!!!
