I personally think the Strymon stuff isn't that great. I have owned an El Cap, Brigadier, Blue Sky Reverb, and Orbit. They all affect the tone in high gain amps and do not handle the signal level they say they do. Eventide is where it's at. Get an H9 and be done with it.

As far as pedal prices. Strymon stuff is in high demand (or at least was), especially over at TGP.

I've had the El Cap, Brigadier, Blue Sky Reverb, and Orbit as well. I liked the Orbit and the two delays, but realized they were WAY overkill for what I need on a gigging pedalboard. I thought the Blue Sky Reverb sounded like a tin can.

If I could find a great example of a reverb/delay combo I wouldn't be so dead set on the Capistan. I know that the Dispatch Master by EQD makes one but I've only heard ambient/indie examples and it's hard to picture it in a hard rock/metal context.

Grab an Empress Tape Delay (there's one in the Classifieds right now) and a Strymon Flint. Then you'll have Trem, Delay and Reverb covered off in two nice pedals.

If I were to sell my amp tomorrow, it'd go shipped/PP'ed for $2,000. I paid $1800 the amp and put $1,400 worth of mods/work into it. All things considered I'm out 1,200 which is roughly 65%. You could even cite that it's a 71 Super Lead in healthy condition. But I'd go as low as $1,700. ...

And did he mention that it kills.

I get it, I wish the stuff I wanted was cheaper too. But really: offer what you think it's worth, and if multiple sellers won't take it, seems like you're gonna have to pay up if you want it. Why is their resale value so high? Doesn't matter. If people are selling them for that much, that's just how it is.

Free market is a sham in a lot of contexts, but I don't think this is one of them.

My wife would kill me lol.

Maybe I can swing it. I just need to think of something. :D

i hardly ever sell my pedals but i put a few in the classifieds and havent had anybody make a offer, so either my pedals suck or im asking too much.
usually i would get offers on my gear but lately people dont even try to make a offer, i tried selling guitars over the past year and hardly ever does somebody make a offer but they just wait until the price keeps getting dropped and then will buy it for what im asking. i miss the old days where if somebody seen something they liked and made a offer, say i was asking 3k for a herbert i would get a offer of like 2800 and then had the option of taking the offer, but lately it seems like if i ask 3k it will just sit there until i drop the price and maybe take a month.
has people forgotten that you can ask for a discount, i had a couple guitars that took forever to sell and if somebody would have made a offer i would have been glad to work something out.
