I'm planning to build a pedalboard, but I'm trying to figure out my "to/from" wiring. I've got wireless, front of amp, effects loop, plus a talk box. To minimize cables, can I use an XLR for send and return from the effects loop, and a heavy TRS for the speaker signal? I don't know if it's a good idea to use a common ground for these. :confused:

Unless I'm missing something completely obvious... you will need two instrument cables for the loop... and only use a speaker cable for your speakers...

I just completed my board, and am getting ready to order from this company:

Watch the video... it's a little cheesy but he product is awesome... you can order the material by itself, it's called Techflex or something like that... but this comes as a nice little kit, hope this helps...

Yeah man, very cool.

I use the same material. I got from my brother in law who works for a sound installation company. Works awesome. I've been gigging with it for a few years now and it still looks brand new. Very durable

I'm thinking I should be able to build a routing box--

send=====\\ XLR //====
-------------=========-------
return====// \\====

spkr out==\\ stereo TRS //====
------------==========-------
spkr cab==// \\====

Use short cables from my amp, cabinet, etc to the box then the snake to the pedal board.
I'm just worried about signal problems using a common for send and return.
