Nice collection you have there. Thanks for posting. Always interesting to see people's boards.

there is something romantic about piles of colorful boxes strewn out before a player

however I'm definitely a firm believer in the hybridization of pedals and rack effects

Perfect timing for this thread...

My 'masterpiece' is underway. Pics to follow. But it'll be a while - got some tasty stomps, and a terrific system. I'm stoked...

Thanks for the post,
Mo

gotta love Robben Ford...one pedal.

rf was never much for tons of stuff on the floor but recently he's been expanding--mikey influence methinkith:

( i'd peel back off the treble on the zendrive if i was him... :D )

still loved his tone best with the tc2290/lexicon pcm 70/dumbelator rig and his fender RF guitar..that was TONE!

Cool photos. This thread is actually helping my GAS, it makes me realize that I have plenty and don't need anything else. :)

Not a chance... It's gonna be tracked, tied and tight ;)
28" x 18" TT Board
Lavacable Mini ELC with solderless ends
DC Brick for power (right now this makes the most sense)
Furman Locking power bar
Stereo Outs

Just getting the last bit of layout done, and the board is coming up from Rooster - I'm doing the install though, so this'll be an interesting project. Let's see how 'pro' I can go

It's funny looking at these pics cause I've been debating on how to downsize everything to save weight and setup time...and I only have a pedaltrain with a Nova system, a wah on a loop switcher and an amp gizmo!
And I don't mean that negatively towards big boards...my mindset is just so far in the other direction regarding weight and portability.

I'm starting to see how a GCX or RJM rack switcher with a multifx and a few racked pedals going into the front of the amp would be a nice, compact setup.

Its all good, you gotta use what works for you, big or small. It aint like your building a board for someone elses approval..

You can eliminate the rack and incorporate alot of the same functionality with one of a number of board mounted router switchers;

http://www.providence.jp/providence_e/pec_2/pec_2b.html

http://rockbox.com/efxmkiii.htm

Its a footswitch, switcher router, MIDI switch all in one. Hook your EFX up and its pretty much as good as any small rack. You can route to your FX loop,FRont of Amp, switch amp channels, call up and number of FX at once and have a bunch of presets as well. Great units indeed..

I'm still thrilled with that Rivera RM-1 i got

4 loop switcher, 4 9v power output taps, tuner output with main output muting, global volume output knob assignable to any preset, midi out, 2 switching jacks

$299.00

I'm not sure who posted it, but it was a while ago... A shot of lead man from Social Distortion 'Mike Ness' wailing on his P90 loaded GoldTop with 1 stomp on a board out front. Brilliant. Just the fact he had it placed 'on a board' made me howl.

Mo

PS - there are some seriously fine looking (and I'd imagine SOUNDING amps in the above pictoral roster  Daaaaaayum!!)
