I remember it was once purely lauded. Have a decent lead on the 2x12 combo.

Thoughts?

My favorite Marshall, killer tone right out of the box, would love to have a 410H myself

With the 210H/C, and the four button footswitch, can you say have Ch1 Green on button 1, Ch1 orange on 2, Ch2 green on 3 and Ch2 orange/red on 4 or is it not that flexible?

honestly i didn't really like it when i tried it in stores. Then again, i hated my TSL in stores plugged into GT-75 speakers too, loved it on different speakers. I do remember a good clean "channel", and 1 good crunch "channel"... Too many knobs!

Loved the 205H I demo'd through an EVH 4x12. Everything a modern Marshall should be that never was post JCM2000 era.

Yup it does that OR use one of the buttons as your solo boost by using the 2nd master.

Example,

Button 3 = OD1 orange set to master 1 no verb

Button 4 = OD1 oarange set to master 2 w/ verb. Master 2 being a tad louder to cut through.

Set your amp with what you want and hold the button down, that simple. Using a plain guitar cable as well since everyone has those lying around.

Ah sweet, exactly what I'm thinking of doing.

I have a decision to make now, as this does seem like a very cool amp. I keep reading about OD Orange having some mad mojo and being the standout channel on the amp. Does it do a big fat lead tone as well as a huge rhythm?

great amps right out of the box, add a choke and a few small voicing changes and it's even more rippin.

OD1 orange is the hair channel for most of us, put the gain around 11:00 - 12:00 and use presence more than treble. Fat rhythm I would go to OD1 green or crunch red as that is less compressed, like Accept Balls type tone.

Look up Killertone's sig, he has very good JVM clips.

i just picked up a 410h, really digging it so far,

There's a whole host of interesting mods detailed on jvmforum.com, which sound pretty tempting, but i'm a play around with it stock for now, just changed tubes, together with a midi board/little rack setup it's super flexible, i have a bb preamp out front but it's like i hardly need it with all the channels/options,

Huge gain on tap, but solid marshall tone, i only use green+orange modes, sounds good to me

i'll be trying an eq in the loop soon to see how that affects things, and might start tinkering with some mods to fine tune some stuff

Great amps, especially for live stuff if you need a ton of tones. My 410 has been solid with no problems whatsoever for years. I will say I ended up using less of the treble knobs after having it awhile, it has gotten me thicker overall tones while still having plenty of top.
Dam the naysayers, do it!

Which is the gain channel on the 2ch? OD1 or OD2? What are the main differences?

Yeah, it would be nice to have a clean, dirty clean, crunch, high gain and solo tone all from that one head.

I'm currently using a Riot or Pinnacle into clean amps for gain but I have the itch for a high gain amp again. The deal I've found on this is good so I'm thinking it's gonna be worth it. Plus, it should be a level above pedals, right? I'm mostly talking about for gigging, not really bedroom playing although I do know it's supposed to be good at those volumes too?

They are great amps and they sound killer at all volumes and I personally think that the gain/distortion is definitely above pedals but that's just me. The good thing is that the amp takes to pedals really well , so you can use a combination of pedals and amp distortion which adds to an already flexible amp. I don't think that you can go wrong with it and if it's not your cup of tea, you can always unload it.

I'm thinking of wiring my board in a way that I can stick the Nova System in the loop of an amp, with a Tubescreamer up front (as well as leaving the Riot on there) but still being able to run straight into the Nova and into the front end of a clean amp if I'm not using my own backline.

Could work real well.
