People like this are scum... Mesa content!

I remember reading a recent article about someone who bought... I think, a painting... from a private owner. I think it was the widow of husband who owned the painting. She was asking like $10,000 or something for it and was in a hurry to sell because she was cleaning out the estate. The buyer knew the painting's real value and gladly paid the $10,000 (or whatever the price was). Then he turned around, had the painting properly restored and appraised for like... millions. And people in the comments of the article were sooooooo angry at this guy. Called him a scumbag and a jerk and an a-hole for know what he was buying and "taking advantage" of the seller. I completely disagree. I think that's just being a smart, informed buyer. Happens all the time.

Someone buys a painting or a chair or a watch or a guitar or a vase or a cabinet or a table at a thrift store or tag sale, etc. Then gets lucky and discovers it's worth a lot more. Everybody cheers. Yay! Good job! But when a buyer is informed and knows what he's dealing with, it makes him a bad guy lol. It's silly.

i can kind of relate.. my father was a DJ going back to the mid 60s, i grew up with basically a record store in my basement, and in the collection was all sorts of radio only releases for the radio stations from the beatles, elvis.. you name it. records im sure had to be worth some good money. when my parents got divorced, unbeknownst to me my mom paid someone when i was away to come take the records because she knew i would not let that happen under any circumstance. are those people the assholes for getting paid to take a treasure chest of records?? no, my mom is :dunno:

Its limited, its worth whatever people are willing to pay, so i dont see a problem with somebody selling it for that price, doesnt offend me, the guy did his homework and bought the amp, these amps wasnt a secret, there was presales in may, and in january there was a pic of one floating around, so if somebody didnt wanna put in the work to track one down or try to presale one of these amps knowing months in advance that they was coming out, then why be pissed.

On launch day mesa had them on their site for hours, gc, mf, and a few other dealers had them for sale, some small dealers had them for sale too, it wasnt impossible to get unless you had no desire to put on the effort or didnt have the money to buy it. A few of my friends bought the amp on launch day, one guy bought it off the mesa site and the other called around and found one at humbucker music.

Wow, $10k. And I’m so dumb I didn’t think enough about the release to even click on the Mesa ad about it when it popped up. Something for everyone I guess…

For all the gear I get, I suppose it’s the rare instance where what I want also happens to be worth something. I’m so used to getting 50% back of what I paid for new. I don’t think I’ll ever sell it though

If you’re gonna call anyone an asshole call Gibson an asshole for playing into the hype machine and making it limited edition for no reason other than exclusivity premium pricing.

Maybe someone will open up their iic++ and document the mod, Randall smith even said it’s a couple parts and there are already provisions for them on the normal iic+ board.

They were $200 more than the normal IIC+ and still in line with other high-end US built heads. Not sure how that's "exclusively premium pricing"

I bought my OG c+ for less than 2k. If OP expects me to sell mine for that then LOL.
SCUM!
