Ha! The horse's mouth beat me to it. I wanted to reply earlier today but was working and forgot.

Both Mark and Pete are incredibly gracious individuals who are trying their damnedest to make a living that involves guitar that now is even more difficult than ever to do. The vast majority of us have to be coming on this forum, hoping someone had done a good clip or vid of something we haven't heard before or a better version of something that hasn't been done well. If there were no vids or clips posted I wouldn't come here at all. The level of overall interesting guitar/amp related discussion on this forum has been low, to say the least, for quite some time. I spend at least half my time on here discussing our shitty government in Off Topic.….Plus the vid in the OP wasn't even posted by Pete. You do realize he probably got PM'd a bunch with "When will you have more vids/demo's of the PT100 to show". If I enjoy the clip/vid I don't care if it's someone trying to sell something/explain something/teach something/WANK something /as long as it's tasty playing and tone. Plus Pete has done some of the best pedal demo's I've ever seen.

I love every video he does introducing equipment. How else am going to hear about new gear - and hear the new gear by someone who knows how to demo it. I own several pieces of gear off of Pete's demos. (fav being the Vintage Revolution). Read about it a little before Pete's demo, but I never would have really been interested until I heard it from him. Much better than searching through a million YouTube vids!

I've been accused of the same crap because I post photos of our guitars, though I had over 4,000 post and was one of the early members here before even opening Luxxtone with Jerry. I've spent hours in emails, PMs and post helping people - even doing research and reading manuals for them, all of which they should have done. I contribute in ways people may not even realize.

Catching flak because you show something people might be into, that you, yes, God forbid, are selling, is BS. I won't speak for Pete, but throwing up a video or some pics to show some cool stuff you have available to those who might be interested, on a forum you've belonged to for years, isn't the same as having 3 post and joining the forum only to sell. (And even that isn't a big deal to me - if I don't want to see it I don't open the thread.)

I didn't even know Pete's latest version amp was out. So, I for one am glad this video was posted - and it wasn't Pete by the way who posted it.

Dickola- you mentioned being "nice". What is not nice, is to call someone a whore. Try it to their face, and I'm sure you'll agree, you risk a broken nose. But it's so easy to sling words like that around on the net. Mark Day is a really cool guy, and he offers up significant time to make free YouTube lessons, etc. I do as well and I'm always on these forums geeking out on guitars, amps, fx, players, etc. I make my living playing guitar and that sometimes spills over into the forums but it's sort of unavoidable- that doesn't make me a whore- it means I'm a working musician in the 21st century. So show some class and respect and don't throw around insults that are just silly, and let's let bygones be bygones.

If trying to make a living doing what you like is "whoring" then a lot of us are "whores" and the use of that word here IMHO wasn't really called for. That said yes there are members here who use the forums at least in part to market themselves, products, or services related to guitar gear. I personally don't have an issue with that at all. Good for them.

On the flip side I don't think those people should get too agitated over it when people call attention to that fact. It is what it is. Some people seem to be bothered by it but personally wouldn't give a shit what those people think anyway.

Again I think being called a "whore" was over the line and I can see why Pete thought so as well.
