I hate them too! I was listening to Rock Of Ages the other day and actually got angry about how bad the drums are. Some genius, that Mutt Lange. Especially irritating is that it's Rick's last two arm drum album. And on that song, I think it's mostly a poorly programmed Linn drum machine.

The whole record is Linn as is Hysteria. To me Pyro sounds more 'real' than Hysteria, which has the second worst drum sound in rock history, only to St Anger.

My favorite songs on Pyromania and Hysteria are not the hits. Songs like "Too Late for Love", "Billy's Got a Gun", "Run Riot", "Gods of War", etc kick ass

Man just had the H&D album spinning this morning in the workshop, what a great record. The interplay between guitar parts is phenomenal and they sound great too.

I don’t have anything to back this amp but I suspect 2203 into G12 65. High end is relatively smooth and although there isn’t that much gain it just doesn’t have a super lead vibe.
