I just saw this video and I couldn't believe it. I'm pretty sure both guitarists are using Deizels here, but it's kind of hard to tell. So weird not seeing him with a 5150. Same with the ESP guitar too. He's been with Caparison for such a long time. Sounded really good though, even for a crappy handheld camera.

I posted the other thread.

on last years tour peter played the same ESP but an ENGL amp, 2 years before that the krankenstein. ( there was a tour when he wasn't in the band and the band was using Elmwoods) I have not seen peter live with a 5150 since the "figure number five" era.

I was at the show in the video. I am the hugest Soilwork fan. Since "Natural Born Chaos" I have been going to all three "local" area gigs every single time they come to the US.

Wonder what they used to record the new album? It sounds good, but they haven't had an incredible tone since they left Nordstrom. Same deal with In Flames. Although at least Soilwork is still writing good music.

Pretty sure it's 2 tracks of 5150 and 2 tracks of Engl SE.

damn you beat me to it!!!!
I guess the trick for us was to use the Maxon overdrive pedal and then I ran both an Engl Special Edition – who I'm now endorsed by – and then I used my old [Peavey] 5150 which has been with me for 13 years now.

That's really my comfort zone, dialing in guitar tones. For me it didn't really take that long. Since we quad-tracked on this album, which we haven't done in a long time, it was important we didn't get too much gain when we were tracking because there's a tendency to make it too muddy.

Stabbing The Drama was only Dual Recto.

On that note, I think the newest album has one of the most awesome guitar tones I've ever heard.

Wow, really? I would say that's their weakest album, but I still like it. I like their tones on APP and Chainheart Machine best. The NBC tone is legendary as well.

Weakest album?! Did you forget about Sworn to a Great Divide? The tone alone makes that album unlistenable.

I meant musically. Sword To A Great Divide is definitely their worst album tone wise, but I like the songs on there a lot more than Stabbing The Drama.

Haha, it's not that bad. I love a lot of the songs on that album. Had them stuck in my head for so long when it first came out.

No, you're that bad. \:D/

Chainheart machine is the best album of the old soilwork sound and stabbing the drama is the best of the new soilwork sound IMO.

the tone on sworn is complete crap. some good songs though.

I would rank Chainheart third behind Steelbath and APP, but all of those albums are a 10 to me. Figure Number Five is my favorite of their "catchy" albums.
