Peters vs Diezel vs Engl vid

Hey dudes, I never did a comparison on my maps. So here it is. One take. Tried to play the same riffs and switch between the maps. Order of amps on vid.

Peters Hydra
Diezel Herbert CH3
Engl SE EL34 CH3
Diezel Herbert CH2


I dialed them all in as close as possible. Video is kinda hard the tell the differences but whatever. Too lazy and brain dead for clips....

Lemme know what you think.

Edit: All 3 amps were being played thru the Engl and Diezels cabs to make things even across the board. I use an Egnater SS4 headswitcher to switch, via midi, on the fly between the 3 amps. Just so their is no confusion on one mp being closer to the camera or anything. They were all going into the same cabs equally.

Peters sounded effing mean, SE sounds good for what your playing, and I'll say it again, the Herbert is the most overpriced overrated amp out there.

I liked em all for different reasons. I liked the overall tone and saturation of the Hydra, but it was loose compared to the other two. Had nice upper mids too. This amp sounded the biggest.

The herb has that tight Diezel thing going on, what else can I say? Nice cut, focused lows. Sounded the most polished and surgical.

The Engl sounded similar to Herb ch 3 but without that Diezel 3d thing happening. Didn't seem quite as tight as Diezel, but tighter than Hydra.

Of course that's all judging from a video camera comparison, but I listened with good headphones.

I agree about the Peters it has superb clarity and overall meanness to it. Cuts incredible well in a mix. No Herbie Love? It's cool man, not for everybody.

Thank you sir. Too bad my left hand sucks ass. The video mic really doesn't tell the whole story. That's for sure. I feel the Hydra low end is the tightest out of the bunch. The Herbie seems the loosest but I love how it comes through. They all have their own thing going on and can find good and bad between them.

The Peters seems to be the most raw and dynamic, I love it. The Herbert didn't shine at all in this comparison, maybe too much mid cut and too high depth? Never liked Engl's voicing, even though I have to admit it cuts nicely in a heavy context.

Herbert cut through better, distortion was more defined, next in line was the Peters and finally the Engl. Peters had more percussion, sure, but to my taste, thats not the quality of tone. Nice job.

Another Peters vote! I am happy you guys are hearing some of what I hear. I know a camera vid is very limited and not the best representation of what these amps are capable of.

Shit, I should have been more clear on how this was set up. All 3 heads were going thru the Engl and Diezel cabs. It was a completely level playing field. I use an Egnater SS4 head switcher that switches all 3 heads via midi and runs the outputs to two of my cabs. So again, everything was even, no amp had the advantage of being closer or using a different cab.
Yep, it's a VHT Fatbottom with V30's and I had a spare Peters badge from a different color grill....so I tripped one day into the cab and it magically appeared on the VHT.
