I don't hear Philp mentioned around here very often. Great player. Check him out.

who john mayer dreams to be like in his sleep :D

the user rezamatix posted a Phillip Sayce comment on the blues contest topic that i saw, and i have to say before that i had never heard of the guy.

he's got me beat in playing blues - im no contest on his playing field

from what i have seen video wise, but he plays with honest feeling which is what i like about him. his vibrato is perfect, and he ALWAYS has awsome tone. and just of what i have found on the internet (i dont own any of his cd's if he has any) i can say that he can sing like no other. the dude's got pipes that kill

Philip's a great singer and plays with a lot of fire and attitude.

i like to throw him in the effect that if you took Gary Moore and SRV and put them into a blender, Philip Sayce is the outcome.

FWIW the second video you posted of philip sayce, here is paul gilbert at MIT in california with his band the evil stepsisters covering a song with the same exact chorus

Thanks! I produced Peace Machine with Phil. We (and everyone involved) poured so much love into that album.

he really seems like a super talented, genuine artist.

Saw him a bunch out here, great player. First time I saw him he opened for Paul at a NAMM party, I thought he blew everyone away that night, his tone and voice were light years above anything else. Met him a few times, nice guy.

Was John Mayer thinking about Phil Sayce as he was banging Jen Anistan or Jessica Simpson?

What year was this?

I saw Sayce open for Paul Gilbert at the Viper in 2007, killer player for sure.

Thanks to You!

Plz, tell me about the gear used for a main riff in "Blood On Your Hands".
That tone is haunting me :)

Peace Machine is still his pinnacle album for me. I don’t think he’s come close to it since. That album has no filler. Beginning to end is great.

Really humble guy and great player. He was interested in a plexi half stack I was selling, played for 20-30 minutes at serious volume, really tearing it up
Then handed me his guitar and said play me something, I was like uh, no thanks.
