Can you point me to line out box that you put in line with the cab that has a level, ground lift. phase switch, has no cab sim and is wired for balanced or unbalanced that cheaper?

No, but I can point you to a guy who could build you one for $50. That's the point we are making. ;)

Well wouldnt that mean you could point me to one cheaper? :D And since this guy you know doesnt make his name known and put any of the boxes out there for sale.. this was my only choice for a piece that had only what I wanted.

I think that we are misunderstanding each other lol!
I agree with you and I would buy one from John suhr in a heartbeat because no one else seems to be putting out something like what John is doing! Im just not fond of the pricetag and I think that Someone should build something like this at a cheaper price and capitalize on the lack of competition!

Well, then there's the option of getting a Red Box off e-bay for what? 50 bucks.

  Oh I understand you.... Im not sayig you are slamming John for the pricing or me for paying that for it I was just wondering if there was something cheaper out there that I could have baught that did that exact same thing. :D

I looked at those but couldnt find one that you could turn off the speaker sim, had a level knob, phase switch, and ground lift.

You have to look for the RB Pro, that has ground lift, on/off for the Sim, and line level. No level adjustment though, I just use the level knob on the mixer.

Steve or Dave, if you guys want to borrow my RB Pro to have a look let me know, I can ship it out to ya. It is no longer in production anyways so no harm done imo.

Not sure why you need a polarity reversal since it'll be the same polarity as going to your cab.

Yeah saw those but Im using it for a send to a w/d/w rig not recording. I use a Stereo Memory Man for my delay so its nice to be able to adjust the level being sent to the delay so that I dont over load it. By having a level control Im no stuck using units that just use pro level signal and I can use pedals or whatever.

I didnt think anything about your post. Sorry if mine sounded defensive.

ttosh":2uc4ytzu said:
Steve I did not take your comments as negative. I hope mine did not come across that way either.

No way guys - I didn't think you were being negative or defensive at all. I just realized that I hate when people come into a thread and tell me, "Well.... you could have just got a Metro 12 Series kit for a grand and you paid $2400 for a PeaceMaker... Blah Blah Blah..."

I realized I'd done the same thing and that it was kind of a dick move... :D

I agree..

ya know there are a small few amps that have a inverted polarity. Just wondering here, if the line out signal is the same as going in of the line box,, and you push the signal to an amp that has ivertered phase (switched or not) for some reason.. ?? I dunno.. grabbing straws here! LOL.

Regarding reversed polarity... why would it matter what the polarity is. One amp sends a dry signal, and the line-out signal that is taken off the speaker tap...both will have to be the same polarity.

Ummm didnt say the phase switch was the main reason for getting it so I dont know why you and Ed seemed to have latched on to this. I was naming all those features because there isnt one out there that has all those features. If I dont use the phase switch does that make the other features obsolete???? The MAIN reason was the level knob the second main reasons were the no cab sim and ground switch if I had a hum problem. I could care less about the phase.

Shit people if you can find a unit like this that fits your needs for $50 then use but for those of us who found the other features very usful that arent on the $50 boxes then why in the hell would you care how much I spend on it???

Quite honestly (not including Gainfreak) alot of these posts sound a bit like a slam on how John prices his pieces. I really dont understand why you guys even care. If its out of your budget or not worth it to you dont buy it but who cares what others do with their money.

I actually planned on ordering one or two. but if I could biuld one like it cheaper.. and had time I would. Just that stupid time thing!! now working on 2 CD projects at once. and you guys know the drill!! arrgh.. :D
