I'm shocked out how different these two pickups are. Same Guitar. Same Kemper Profiles, etc....

Guess which is which? Which you do like more?

I'm torn, I love the low end on the 1st pickup...but it's a bit nasal sounding. The clarity on the 2nd pickup is intense.

I like the second one much more. The first one is really scooped.

The 2nd one has this awesome clarity, but lacks in the depth/low end department.....the 1st one sounds bigger, but scooped and nasal.

my guess is crunchlab second. i like them both for different reasons. i'm thinking the second one would be "better" if i had to pick just one....you could always dial in more bass if needed.

That's pretty much my thought.

I liked the second one better as well

My guess is that the first clip is the Crunchlab. It has the same character as the D-Sonic I had which had a scooped nasally sound. I hated that pickup and couldn't get rid of it fast enough

the first one had a nice overall tone for listening, but I think that the midrange boost on the second would make it a better pickup for live use and it seems like it would cut better

I like the second one much better. It's not only clearer, but has a bigger and more open sound. The chugs have more chunk to them. The first one sounds rolled off in the highs and more congested. The second one seems to have less low mids, but the rumbly low lows are still there. It just seems less deep because of the roll off of the first one and the more lively mids of the second. It sounds meaner, throatier, and chunkier.

I don't have extended experience with the crunch lab. But based on my limited experience with it and my experience with the Distortion, I would be surprised if the second one was not the Distortion.

1.) Crunch Lab
2.) Distortion

Keep 'em coming. I'll give the answer at 10PM EST. I will say that pickup #2 is the one I'm keeping in the guitar, I can always give a little bump in the lows or low-mids on the Kemper.

Hoping the 2nd one is the DD

I'm guessing you prefer that pickup in the clip?

By far... And I'm considering putting one in a Les Paul unless a Nailbomb comes up for sale soon at a good price.

Keep in mind that it just may be the roll-off that's making the CrunchLab sound more bassy and deeper. Try rolling off the highs of the Distortion and you might be surprised. It's possible that you'll get the same kind of effect without the congested and bland mids.
