Pickup quick connect/disconnects - Are these a thing?

So, I absolutely despise wiring up guitars but I do like to try different pickups from time to time. Does anyone make the little male/female connectors you can buy that would allow to just plug/unplug pickups. This would be dead basic wiring of a two hum guitar, nothing special like coil splits, etc.. Just your basic volume/tone and a three way toggle switch. I've looked online, and there seems to be options out there for four lead connectors but I wasn't sure if there was a guitar sized specific solution to this as I'm sure that available space in the cavity would come into play.

Hey bro - we had fairly in-depth convo on this not that long ago.

Bottom line, in order for something like this to be successful, we would need an industry standard - like USB. Then people like Duncan and DiMarzio could start adapting the same male/female connectors. This of course would only be successful if folks like Fender and Gibson started making guitars with the same fe/male wire connector. Additionally, the wiring would obviously have to be the same too.

We got a little sideways when people started bringing up all the different types of pickups. But safe to say, that a bulk of your basic rock/metal humbuckers could be done this way.

But in this thread, you will see that there are some decent aftermarket solutions too.

Quick Connect thoughts

Yeah, I saw some talk about needing industry standard and all that when searching options on the interwebz, but I think that would apply to a "hard wired" connector to the pickup/PCB board type setup. I'm not really looking for that kind of quick connect. I don't mind to solder and all that jazz, I just don't want to do it all the time. Pretty much all four conductor pickups, will have the same N/S, start/finish construction, etc. but would likely be different color wire depending on manufacturer. The positions that these wires install on the pot lugs, toggle tabs, and what not in the guitar doesn't change. My thoughts are to just wire the four (or five if I decide to make a permanent ground) wires of a connector into the guitar like you would a standard pickup, and the would leave me able to just unplug whatever pickup I had in there. If the idea works like it think it would then I'd just have to unplug the pickup from the wiring harness in the guitar and plug another one in. I would just have to arrange the wire colors from the pickup to match the plug when moving from one brand pickup to another. My main concern is real estate in the cavity and the size of the connector. Most of the quick connects I've seen, like Gibson/Epiphone have been really small connectors.

I found these on amazon that look like it might work for what I'm thinking, at least in theory. I may order some and do some experimentation.

Gibson has them for their PCB board guitars.

I just ordered some KwikPlug adapters and wiring kit from GuitarFetish. I’ll report back.

All of my guitars right now are home built/Warmoth style super strats, so the Gibson layout is outside the scope but that looks like a great plug and play option for that type of guitar.
They have Stat options.

I put one in a Les Paul a few years ago. I can switch out both humbuckers in about 15 minutes.

Instalation was easy. I like it. But I don't switch out pickups. I did a few time right after I got it.
