I go back and forth with that setup. Right now since I am in a new band I have it setup seperate so the bassist and I can learn new songs together on guitar. Nice having the stereo option either way.

Yeah thats a cool idea! Sometimes ya dont always need the stereo option live, but its always nice to know you could if you needed to

The difference isn't huge but I think the 4x12 is more balanced sounding and a little less bassy. I think the two extra speakers help even the sound and bring out the mids more and not having it on the floor directly helps keep the low end down. They are both great cabs either way.
