What gear have you purchased, and whether it be the next day or the next year did you wonder "Why did I buy this? This is the wrong thing for me."

Engl Fireball 60. Biggest POS I've ever owned.

Easy, any non full-sized strat shaped guitars. Been through, explorers, v, RR, Firebird, Mockingbirds and I eventually end up not using them and playing strat shaped guitars, just prefect to me anyways.

Recto preamp...It's a love hate relationship right now, I'm hoping I can get it sounding good.

Vox Satchurator. Shit box

I actually really like this unit as a boost in front of a crunchy channel. Gain & Tone at 9:00, Volume at 3:00, are the perfect settings for me. That being said, into a clean channel, it doesn't sound very good.

For me it was a marshall half stack. the problem wasnt so much that is was a marshall but that it wasnt the best model I could have gotten at the time. I bought it about 5 years ago and my style has changed so much over this period of time, I just wonder now if I will have it for much longer.

What was it? A DSL?

+1 to this

The recto pre is probably the most disappointing piece of gear by far that I have owned.

Marshall TSL602. What a turd... sold it shortly after purchase...

peavey wolfgang KOREAN model, it felt like it was made of plastic...shit sounding, shitty feeling....i couldn't help myself putting her for sale the same day it arrived home

Marshall TSL 60. Dreadful. Should I get it modded or cut my losses and sell the bastard?

I regret trading my pre gear Splawn Quick Rod and Basson 2x12 (say what you will, but I love those cabs) for a very early USA Wolfgang Standard Deluxe goldtop and Genz Benz El Diablo 60C combo. I realized after about a month that locking vibratos and I don't get along, and also that the GB was the worst excuse for a high-gainer that I'd had up to that point. I ended up swapping the nearly new GB with a fresh retube to a buddy of mine for his beat to shit Classic 50 2x12, just because I hated it that much.

Funny you said this.....it was the very first thing that popped into my head when reading the thread title, I mean it was instant, *that Satchurator pedal.*

Honerable mention is an old (circa early '90s) Peavey 4x12 cab....I mean I picked it up for a song so it was no biggie but for the first week or so I recall asking myself "what the F@#k was I thinking?" It's now sitting in my two unfinished rooms downstairs. The cat uses it as a perch, lol.

Well, tons of Recto Pre hate boiling over in here. Mental note: stay away from it!

Oh yeah! The piece of gear I hated most after I bought it?.......An ADA MP-2 preamp back in the 90's, that I purchased as a backup/alternative to the Marshall JMP-1 I was using at the time.

The MP-2 was the BIGGEST POS I have ever had the displeasure of playing through. I absolutely hated it. It collected DUST in my rack for 2 years until I unloaded it for a fraction of the price I paid new.

Lessons learned.....

Lol. I loved my Recto Pre with a Mesa 2:100, a Zakk O/D and two Mesa 4x12"s :)

My G Major II sounds fine. The problem is I have to turn it off and on at initial powerup about 20 times before I can get it to actually boot. Sometimes after a few minutes it reboots over and over. This after spending 7 weeks at TC getting "repaired"
When I get my AxeII the Ultra will replace the TC in my OD100 rig as an FX only unit. It sounds way better and it actually works.

Rocktron ProGap in the 80's, I didn't bond well with that, lol. Hamer Scarab back in the 80's, wow what a POS!! SD Metal Livewire in the 90's...YUCK! Gibson Historic 68RI Custom, what a complete warped neck, humped bad QC piece of overpriced crap, glad that thing is long gone!!!
