What's up Ultra Lead guys. I just got back into the PittBull Ultra-Lead and retube the one I just picked up. I have two questions . Your input is needed and appreciated!
1- What power tubes do you prefer and why? I want to stay with the KT88's. In my last UL I had EH's in the power and JJ's in the pre and it was hands down the best Pit I'd ever heard or played.
2- If using 35 watts in your calculation where do you like your UL to be biased at? 60%,65%,70% or lower perhaps? I have read several things about guys liking the KT88's biased on the colder side. Opposite of say KT77's that like the bias hot in the 70% dissipation range.
Right now mine is set at 60% dissipation @ 44 mA. Gonna start here and slightly go up and see how it feels. Just wanted to see what you guys have settled in on.
