I'm guessing it has something to do with having a mahogany neck as apposed to maple like on a lot of other guitars
There are maple neck Les Pauls...all the Norlin era guitars are that way, as are most of the Zakk models (a copy of a Norlin with his graphics).messenger":2mwxmuax said:I'm guessing it has something to do with having a mahogany neck as apposed to maple like on a lot of other guitars
It's one of those "You just know" kind of moments.old_metal_head":3da0rxpo said:How do you know when you got a "good one"? What do you look for?

Maybe the two that I mentioned were just set up REALLY well for me and my style, which is why I fell in love with them. I played a '63 15,000 Strat at a GC 15 or so years ago, another AH HA moment...this thing played like buttah. I also played a '58 Gibson Byrdland (Nugent) that was 10,000 and it blew away 2 other Byrdlands in the same store, one being a '68 and the other from the 70s.old_metal_head":3drzkaj2 said:paulyc":3drzkaj2 said:It feels good to you...
I can't seem to feel-out a guitar in a store.
I have to bring it home, set it up, play it for hours through all of my licks.
