I got the Morpheus Droptune a few days ago and played with the guys tonight and all I can say is save your money because it sucks and doesn't deliver what it claims.

I've been thinking of trying one of those. Is it that bad? Does it color the tone?

Yeah it does. I only used it for a half step down too and it was all swirly and artificial sounding. It couldn't track all that fast either...didn't help that I was banging out BYOB by System of a Down either... lol! It was too much for it to handle.

That really sucks. It's a great idea I guess they're just not there yet. I'll avoid that one. Thanks!

I have to agree with you there but it works well for what I need it to do. We play 4 or five songs that are in D and I needed something to do that for me when Im in the studio rehearsing without having to lug an extra guitar and it works perfect for that. yes... there is a bit of swirl going on but its not enough for me to care in a coverband context and no one else but me noticed

I need to get my axe-fx to do this but I haven't figured out how yet :hys:

People who can tweak have been having incredible results with the axefx pitch block. There's and example right in this board just a few threads below, IMHO nobody could tell it's been downtuned.

  Your to much!

When I had my Axe for the third time around I tried that pitch drop and played some serious satan worship type shit.
That's ]v[etal!!

Yeah its too bad about that pedal...I was really hoping for better. It threw me off for the rest of the practice last night. I was kinda bummed out. Oh well..I'll try to make it work by puttting a clean boost after it or something. I hear that it helps with tone and clarity.

I'm wondering if there is an update for it? The main reviewer said that he didn't like it the first time he played it until he updated the sofwtware.

I definitely agree that a clean boost might help because I feel like you loose signal using the thing. Im going to use it again at a rehearsal tonight and I'll ket you know what the deal is.

I don't own one, but I've read that when you update the firmware to the newest version, it makes a world of difference. You guys might want to give that a whirl and see how you make out.

I don't own one. I just checked the morpheus website and didn't see anything regarding a firmware update. Perhaps you need to contact them?

Try that. There is a link there for the firmware.

I find it interesting that everyone seems to have issues with latency and saying it tracks slowly because in my experience with it, there's no latency and tracks AMAZINGLY well through my rig?

I just recently got mine and it's pretty amazing. Works much better than I anticipated for sure. In this demo I ran it straight into my Eleven Rack and then into ProTools for the audio. I think this demo really shows the transparency of it. My ONLY beef is the signal of the guitar hitting the front of the amp is slightly lower when engaged but there's ways to deal with that such as a clean boost or something along those lines.

I don't think you can argue with this "direct to tape" signal? Maybe I'm wrong but I love it!

Let me know what you think

Welcome to the forum. Yeah, you made it sound pretty good up until you were lower than a whole step. But IMO if it sounds realistic and has no latency for half-step or full step down, then it's worth it.

I've been using it for a few months now. I have it plugged into a loop on my G- System. I only use it for a 1/2 step down. Any more than that and it is unusable for a gig. But for a 1/2 step down it works great in my setup. No tone coloration or latency or warbling issues. I just spent a small fortune on my rig in the last year and wouldn't let some pedal muck up my tone. I've probably done 15- 20 gigs with it with no problems. The sound guys have never noticed any change in tone or other issues when I use it. But like I said I only use it for a 1/2 step down.
