PLayed a few new Balls today and damm, each one played soo damm good. The store had a brand new Silhouette Special with a maple neck in Tobacco Burst. The setup was perfect. The action was almost too low but it didn't buzz or fret out. There's no comparison between the Silo and similiar priced Fenders as far as playability and quality and whatnot.

The Luke they had was really nice as well. It sounded a little thicker than the Silo. The neck was really comfy. Well, all the Ernie Ball necks are comfy to me since i like the shape of them. They had a few Morse models as well and a new Axis Anniversary model.

I have played a few Balls in the past that were crappy, but i guess it was due to owners beating on them or not setting them up right, all these one's were setup and dialed in right. The only beat thing is there was a price hike on them. The Silo was $1450 and that's getting close to a Suhr Pro Series. But I've played plenty of Suhr's and the Ernie Balls seem to hold there own IMHO.

I played a Petrucci model for the first time yesterday and man did I fall in love. The neck was so comfortable it made me come home and not wanna play my gibson. I'm totally GASsing for one now.

damn.. i've had some ebmm gas and i'm dying to play one

I picked up an Axis a little over a week ago. When it got here, I played it, immediately put my ESP up for sale and bought a Petrucci JP6, which should be here in 3-4 days. The Axis was the first EBMM guitar I have ever played and now I don't see myself using any other brands other then EBMM as my main guitars.

A MusicMan is the one guitar that I can walk into a store, grab one off the rack and they play very good. I never can grab a PRS, Gibson, or Fender and do the same

What's that tell you? ;)

Love my Axis. It playes and sounds great and has a figured maple top to die for.

But somehow that FR always goes outa tune. Gotta give it to someone to fix I guess. Probably the screw posts are f$%&ed.

Where'd you go? The little shop not far from Edison or the larger one further south?

I definitely had the same experience, the Music Mans played far better off the shelf than any Fender ,etc at the local shop. But I ended up with the Pro Series S2 as it was only a couple hundred more and played as good but just fit me better, but I almost picked up a MM!!!!Sweet guitars!!

Your getting as bad as me with Fender bashing, I hope you can take the heat :D
