PLayed a few new Balls today and damm, each one played soo damm good. The store had a brand new Silhouette Special with a maple neck in Tobacco Burst. The setup was perfect. The action was almost too low but it didn't buzz or fret out. There's no comparison between the Silo and similiar priced Fenders as far as playability and quality and whatnot.
The Luke they had was really nice as well. It sounded a little thicker than the Silo. The neck was really comfy. Well, all the Ernie Ball necks are comfy to me since i like the shape of them. They had a few Morse models as well and a new Axis Anniversary model.
I have played a few Balls in the past that were crappy, but i guess it was due to owners beating on them or not setting them up right, all these one's were setup and dialed in right. The only beat thing is there was a price hike on them. The Silo was $1450 and that's getting close to a Suhr Pro Series. But I've played plenty of Suhr's and the Ernie Balls seem to hold there own IMHO.
