Please, tell me why I'm fiending so hard for a EVH guitar?

i would really love to have one of those in antique white.
I dig that one too  Usually I hate faded white, and LOVE snow white, but it looks good on that guitar.

Pete Thorn plays that guitar and makes it sound great. I love them because of him. I was never a fan of the look of it, but man it looks like a fantastic instrument.

congrats on the new guitar

you'll have many hours of awsome tone at your fingertips - those guitars are great tone wise.

I honestly would have never even thought of buying one of these at all... but then I casually picked on up and played it was like smacked upside the head HARD and FAST...

I was like whoa... this guitar sounds like monster tone on steroids... The playabilty is great and it works for me although some guys complain it feels like it's a bit small for thier hands...

the pickups in the new ones sound a bit clearer overall than the peavey ones. they all sound great. yeah the necks feel great in your hands - right at home. easy to play, etc.

i have not had the pleasure to play the new ones, i have heard alot of people complain about the small frets.

basically the new one is a combination of the ernie ball music man in a wolfgang body with new pickup designs.

the bodies are also thicker than a normal guitar, if you look closely, you'll notice its really fucking thick like his original black/white fender was on the original van halen I album.

the floyd rose actually is not a licensed floyd rose. its a gotoh license design. everyone calls the trem's on wolfies and the new wolfies floyd rose trems but they are wrong - they are gotoh licensed tremelo's.

John suhr claims they sound better. IMHO i like them better too - theres a qwack in the action that an original floyd cant replicate - you'll notice it right before when eddie does his signature g string harmonic and then grabs a horsie. theres a qwack when he dumps the G string. having owned a wolfgang vs an original floyd rose, that little detail cannot be replicated on anything else.

i grew up a huge eddie fan, still am but i dont chase his tone. that guitar is a combination of alot of little details that make it a great player and also a great sounding guitar. really underrated IMHO.

i cant get along with a few things though that i mentioned above. i like my japanese guitars. ill stick with Tom Anderson's (made in USA) , Ibanez, and ESP instead :)

Wow interesting stuff there...

Currently I have 2 usa strats (hardtail and American deluxe I changed up alot), a hot rod tele, 2 Gibson VOS Les Pauls, 3 ESP's with EMG's and a Charvel USA san dimas strat stlye guitar...

I'm pretty open to guitars in general and if I just play somthing and if there is magic I buy it... I had a ton of PRS guitars for a long time and just got tired of them and sold them all... pretty high $ stuff like Modern Eagles, etc...

My fave axes that I have are this 1999 Fender strat hardtail and my 2010 American deluxe I frankenstiend by throwing 2 humbuckers in it...

I didn't buy this guitar because of Eddiel... in fact he was not even part of the thought process at all... I just played this thing and fell in love with it tone wise and had to have one...

I trying to stop fiending after this purchase...

^^ same for me, I'm a big EVH fan, which brought the guitar to my attention, but I would have bought it anyway after playing it and hearing it. To date, everyone who has played it since I bought it has been completely floored. I'm pretty sure I've moved a few units for Fender by now.

They are great guitars!
I've been using a Wolfgang ever since 1998 and nothing I've tried sounds or plays better for me (as far as double coil guitars).
I think the new Fender EVH may even be better, I've played a few at music stores and really want one some day.
