Had 4 tickets @ 10.00 each... sold two at show for $40.00, so it
was a free night! Moved into centre 200 level as the soundman for Ratt
(who I talked to for a while regarding Warren's tone) had two seats
right in front of soundboard for his sister who couldn't make it. He was in
charge of monitors and had no idea what Warren was using??!! LOL!!!
Ratt...
Warren is awesome! Great solos, Great tone, just a great player.
The band sounded great too with John Corabi on rythym guitar. I'd
love to know what Warren was using as it didn't sound like the old
Marshall tone he used to have. However, it was smoother and did
cut very well, great tone!!! Somebody mentioned Diezel? I love his playing.
Stephen Pearcy has lost it however. Most songs he was singing either
an octave lower or just making up a new melody line (if original was
unreachabel- often) He sang a few songs very well, but most were
not good at all. Very disappointed with his vox!!
Poison ...
These guys put on a great "Rock'n Roll" show! Are they incredible
musicians? NO!! But they know how to get an audience going! Brett's
vocals are great! The drummer is a hoot to watch (Ricky Rocket??)
CC Deville "tries" to play more notes than he should most times and
has the WORST tone possible. You would think "somebody" would tell
him, like a soundman or another band member??!! Are these guys all
tone deaf?? His tone had lotsa bottom and screaching top end with
very weak mids! I don't know what amp he's using... maybe something
good - but he just chooses to have a fingernail on chalkboard sound...
I dunno.
CC was fun to watch tho and I tried so hard to look past his tone and
just enjoy a rock concert!
I did... It was a fun night out!
Plus it was free...
Warren Demartini's a great player!!!
