Had 4 tickets @ 10.00 each... sold two at show for $40.00, so it
was a free night! Moved into centre 200 level as the soundman for Ratt
(who I talked to for a while regarding Warren's tone) had two seats
right in front of soundboard for his sister who couldn't make it. He was in
charge of monitors and had no idea what Warren was using??!! LOL!!!

Ratt...

Warren is awesome! Great solos, Great tone, just a great player.
The band sounded great too with John Corabi on rythym guitar. I'd
love to know what Warren was using as it didn't sound like the old
Marshall tone he used to have. However, it was smoother and did
cut very well, great tone!!! Somebody mentioned Diezel? I love his playing.
Stephen Pearcy has lost it however. Most songs he was singing either
an octave lower or just making up a new melody line (if original was
unreachabel- often) He sang a few songs very well, but most were
not good at all. Very disappointed with his vox!!

Poison ...

These guys put on a great "Rock'n Roll" show! Are they incredible
musicians? NO!! But they know how to get an audience going! Brett's
vocals are great! The drummer is a hoot to watch (Ricky Rocket??)
CC Deville "tries" to play more notes than he should most times and
has the WORST tone possible. You would think "somebody" would tell
him, like a soundman or another band member??!! Are these guys all
tone deaf?? His tone had lotsa bottom and screaching top end with
very weak mids! I don't know what amp he's using... maybe something
good - but he just chooses to have a fingernail on chalkboard sound...
I dunno.
CC was fun to watch tho and I tried so hard to look past his tone and
just enjoy a rock concert!
I did... It was a fun night out!
Plus it was free...

Warren Demartini's a great player!!!

Cool, glad to hear that you had fun. I sometimes cannot get past listening and watching a concert as a guitar player vs. a fan. Everytime I have seen Lynch and/or Dokken, it has been seemingly a blur, but I know which nights he was "on" and what he was using. Sometimes that viewpoint seems to inhibit my enjoyment of shows.

I plan on trying to see Ratt when they show up here in Jax, soon. But will be drinking heavily when CC and the boys take the stage. I will probably be focused more on the crowd of ladies dancing vs. Poison.

Yes...
This amazes me too. All the 20 year old strippers dancing in front of these guys in their late 40's - early 50's??!!
Is it just a "stardom thing" or do these girls want a piece of these old fellas after the show?
Made me laugh...

Lots of eye candy there!

I was watching this bootleg DVD last night from the current ratt tour...corabi was playing great and running through soldano slos (2 in a rack case by the side of the stage)...i've seen pics of warren's rig and it consists of a diezel VH4 and a soldano SLO...there were various reports that one of these amps was off during shows.

i saw them last month and i had 4th row seats.
warren was using his vh4 the whole night and the slo wasnt een turned on, i personally would rather have heard the slo because i always liked that tone better, warren only used ch 1 and ch3 of the vh4 and you could see him switching it and the light for each ch lighting up. ratt was good and pearcy isnt great but he had a better night than some of the other times i seen him.

i agree about cc playing to many notes, hes sloppy and has the worst tone ever. but the rest of the band sounded good and everybody in poison looked like they were having fun.
