Not sure if I would have changed my response though but I was 100% of three. THat strat of yours is why I do not get too caught up with names, you just never know when the right one falls into your lap.

That guitar is for real.

That was my pick. The strat would have been 2nd. I didn't like the Tone Zone in my SoCal though.

Yeah don't get me wrong, to me that was the best sound of the bunch. Raw yet warm and articulate to my ear. Very much to my liking!

You know, I'm finding lately that I really love single coils and medium output, open sounding buckers with gain. Really dynamic and responsive to pick attack and can still get chunky with a strong right hand attack.

They have low output buckers, try a PAF type or SD 78.

I'm in the market for a new pickup for my strat and it is ash also. Never considered buying a single coil humbucker. If i understood you right, it has the "Tone Zone S" which is this... http://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/strat/h ... one-zone-s

and i am guessing you're using a 500K pot with it too?

I'm torn between the Dimarzio AT1 and this Tone Zone S. They have similar outputs..

My strat has an SSS pickguard in it right now but I dont have a problem buying an HH one if the AT1 is worth it. Honestly I've never heard a single coil humbucker that I liked until that clip

any thoughts between the two?

Never tried an AT-1 but do love Timmons tone. I like the Tone Zone S a lot
