Haha! I guess I have no ears at all   oh well it is very subjective anyway.

WTF.

I would have thought the 2nd was the basswood EB

So much for internet knowledge of tone

Scott my JP6 is the BFR version. Alder body with a mohogany toneblock and neck. Unique guitar.

Doh!

Not sure if I would have changed my response though but I was 100% of three. THat strat of yours is why I do not get too caught up with names, you just never know when the right one falls into your lap.

That guitar is for real.

REALLY??? Wow!!
That Strat sounds HUGE MAN!!!
I would of thought that was the EB for sure!
But again....they all kicked ass...
and yes...I liked the STRAT the best! ;)

Must be the DiMarzio Tone Zone S :) This guitar always seems to go over well in these.

what strat is it? What woods are in it?

Nice tones in all the guitars...

I love the rawness of the N4.

That was my pick. The strat would have been 2nd. I didn't like the Tone Zone in my SoCal though. :dunno:

Yeah don't get me wrong, to me that was the best sound of the bunch. Raw yet warm and articulate to my ear. Very much to my liking!

Jim-

Maybe post a link to the one you did with the VM?...I definitely liked the strat best on that, and would be curious to hear the difference...

Whenever one of these blind test videos come up, I seem to consistently choose the one with single coils. Coincidently, I don't own anything with single coils.

You are on your way to learning that low output pups are just better with high gain, continue your journey young man.

You know, I am starting to notice a trend. The only thing is-humbuckers just feel better to me.

You know, I'm finding lately that I really love single coils and medium output, open sounding buckers with gain. Really dynamic and responsive to pick attack and can still get chunky with a strong right hand attack.

They have low output buckers, try a PAF type or SD 78.

The guitar is a Fender 50th Anniversary Strat. Ash body, maple neck. The amp is my 5150II with the FJA Metal Mod. Thanks for listening.

I'm in the market for a new pickup for my strat and it is ash also. Never considered buying a single coil humbucker. If i understood you right, it has the "Tone Zone S" which is this... http://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/strat/h ... one-zone-s

and i am guessing you're using a 500K pot with it too?

I'm torn between the Dimarzio AT1 and this Tone Zone S. They have similar outputs..

My strat has an SSS pickguard in it right now but I dont have a problem buying an HH one if the AT1 is worth it. Honestly I've never heard a single coil humbucker that I liked until that clip

any thoughts between the two?
thanks

Never tried an AT-1 but do love Timmons tone. I like the Tone Zone S a lot

Late to the party but I liked 2 - 3 - 1...

I would have guessed 2 was the EBMM and 3 the Strat...oh well.
