this guys is damn good and has the tone too. Not very original though. The vibrato is never gonna match up to the maestro's, Yngwie just owns it and can control it at any tempo...that's what makes Yngwie so brilliant and separate from all the copy cats. Is it just me , or does it seem that Yngwie, Eddie and SRV, have to be the most copied guitar players??

Yes, this guy's vibrato is lightyears worse than Yngwie's but I haven't seen as fluid player try to play Yngwie's songs live.

yep Totally, I got to be pretty good friends with George at the uli roth academy and as matter of fact I helped him pick out an amp to play through during his show because he was running late. really super cool dude and modest...he uses the same pickups as yngwie and the same overdrive pedal. Same economical approach to picking as well.

but he never heard any of his stuff.

Actually he acknowledged YJM way more than Joe Stump did...and they're buddies. Joe is a cool guy too, but geeeez can u emulate yngwie even more!!

Ive only heard good things about George as a person but for the love of God, If Yngwie stopped short he'd be pulling George and Joe Stump out of his ass :hys: Even that guy Rob Marcello bites of of Yngwie

The thing that gets me about Joe Stump is how he thinks its his style that he is playing. Now I know that there is no idea for me to truly know what he is thinking but it sure comes off that way !!

That's very cool. I just can't stand those guys that do everything the same as someone then say they never even listened to that particular someone.

totally agreed....reminds me of that movie with J.T. Walsh and kirk Russell..." Never saw he before in my life"

LOL, I totally forgot about J. Stump! :hys:

The guy's an Yngwie copy in his own class. Killer player though...

  so true! and funny. The thing about Stump is that when he was on stage with uli demonstrating his style to the academy students, he claimed his influences were blackmore, roth, gary moore, al dimeola ...and then uli just flat out said, oh well it sounds like you've listened to Yngwie too!..totally put him on the spot!  after that Joe noticed that i had a vintage 73 strat and wanted to check it out so i let him and then he just rambled about how yngwie sets up his guitars and even told me story that he owns one of Yngwie's 71' 50 heads...unbelievable.

LOL! :hys:

But damn how good Stump is although he has basically copied everything from Yngwie. He even took Mike Vescara as his singer. :)

the thing i observed about Joe and George is that they constantly play!!! even when having a conversation, they just keep burning running through scales and what have u...i don't i saw both of them without a guitar strapped on them..unlike when Paul Gilbert arrived, he gave Uli a hug, plugged in his pedal board through marshall combo, and just went right into the song ...all within 5 minutes. Paul is an incredible pro in every aspect.

That's very interesting. I'd love to see PG live but I bet he's not coming to Finland anytime soon.
