Post ONE thing about you that no one here would have known..

I think I've told most of you everything :D
I'm left handed, but play guitar righty-but drums lefty.

I was turning into an alcoholic because of loneliness some years ago. Divorced, shared custody for a little boy, and my nearest close friend lived about 2000 km away.

To top it off, I had bad anxiety attacks, and usually only left the house to go to the nearest playground with the little guy, to the grocery shop, or to work. I spent most of the afternoons and evenings drinking, crying and cleaning the house to pass the time until I could go to bed. Because every time I left the house, I felt like I was having a heart attack, or was about to pass out. That was worst when my son was with me, because he was so little then.

I slept 4 hours a night most nights.

I was a victim of bullying most of elem. and junior high, because my mother was a teacher at the same school.

I'm fine now, although still left handed :D

I have never been on a date in my life. I have had quite a few girlfriends, and never been short of company... But never gone on a date.

I don't think it's serious enough to be OCD, but all volume controls on hi-fi's and Tvs etc. have to be at a certain volume:

2,4,5,6,8,10,12,14,15,16,18,20,21,22,25,27,28,30,32,35,36,38,40.

It took me a while to shake that when working with music.

I've had to put my job on hold...I'm a respiratory therapist but I've become Mr. Mom due to my wife's job. Her job is demanding and requires a good bit of call. So, I take care of our kids and have very little time for guitar, golf, hunting, fishing or any of the other things that I enjoy. I've learned to deal with it but a lot of people scoff at me for being Mr. Mom. They think i'm lazy and just don't want to work, or that I have it easy by staying home with the kids. Stay at home Moms and Dads actually have the hardest job of all. Work 24/7/365. No Pay. No time off. I have few friends. Most of my friends are people i've never met in person. Rigtalkers !! But i'm not complaining at all. I love my family and realize i'm doing the most important thing in life. Being there for my family and having them know that I love them and they can always depend on me. I do keep my respiratory license and continuing education credits current. In case I ever snap and need to go back to work for my sanity, lol...only so many cars/trucks you can crash and so much sesame street before one goes loopy !!

Music, hunting, fishing, no friends.... You sure we aren't twins? :D The only difference is that I'm the one at my house with a job that requires call.

I've never had a girlfriend  Just waiting for the right person... I love history, I love knowing about what used tO go on back then. I love ships and planes, I actually Love designing things like buildings and Decorating My house to make it look the best. I'm 5'5".Never done Drugs and I science really interests me. I can't go a minute without thinking how everything around me works and how everything happens

I'm a Bruce Lee nut...not as much his movies, although pretty good for kung fu flicks, but more his writings and journey through martial arts, think the latter is pretty fascinating.

I have no real friends, my life is literally the movie I Love You Man

Same here. Must be a personality flaw on my part. I get along with most everyone but I always manage to keep a good bit of space. Always have. I have acquaintances, people I share common interests with. As far as "friends" maybe 1, lives about 4 states away and I talk to him 4-5 times year. Thing is, I've always known it, and it doesn't really bother me. But I guess it does, or I wouldn't be posting it on a forum for everyone to read :scared:

Bothers me, but what the hell, I get along with people on xbox better than I do people in person. I need a match.com for bromance.

+1 pn the 2 above... wierd thought it was only me .... guess not ...

oh 1.. more i was first chair clarinet in my highschool band .... for a year than i got serious about guitar and chicks...

well crotch mechanics require lots of call LOL...i just read that and about fell out of my chair ! well it takes a lot more ambition to become a crotch mechanic than an RT that's for sure....my wife is a nurse anesthetist so our lives work out to where I stay home and cook cabbage while she is at work helping with a CABG. lol if you lived here in louisiana we'd probably be friends then. I'll take another Rigtalker friend though

i turned down an appointment to the u.s. military academy at west point. i'm also a voracious reader. i particularly enjoy reading history books.

I used to be really into Fencing when i was younger about 10 or 11. My coach was a bronze medalist at the olympics and he thought i had the potential to be at that level, but one day i just kinda grew out of it and stopped going. I've always wondered where i'd be today if i had kept with it. I wrestled all throughout high school, i really miss it now that Im out. I have terribly ADD when trying to teach myself something on my own. I just cant sit still long enough to soak anything in, If im not in a classroom or with a teacher or instructor i just cant get anything done. I was a member of my schools country western dance and stunt team called the Wranglers, we performed in london for the new years day parade my junior year and went to Obama's inauguration my senior year and danced for the texas state society inaugural ball.

Quite a therapeutic thread! ;)

Well, I'm a high-school teacher now and used to teach at university or give German lessons to adults. Two different worlds really.

I spent the last year suffering from immense problems related to digestion. It turned out I can't eat any fructose (i.e. no sugar, fruits, vegetables etc.) so now I'm dieting. I lost about 10 kilos and am still not gaining. I've never ever been this skinny before. I used to work out 4-5 times in the gym for many years. :(

Last year I had many bad situations on the streets or on the subway where I would come close to fainting with immense pain in the stomach and heart area. I don't even know if those were panic attacks or related to my problems described above. It's mostly gone now.

OCDs...everybody has them to a certain extent. Whenever I watch The Big Bang Theory I'm thinking that if I was highly intelligent like Sheldon, I'd be exactly like him (with all the quirks, OCDs and geekiness/nerdiness).

I haven't been in a real relationship for 7 years now.

Oh, and I spend way too much money on gear (ok, nothing unusual here), which would be tolerable if it weren't for the fact that my other two hobbies are equally and even more expensive (audiophilia and photography).

I don't drink hot drinks

I moved to Ireland with a car full of stuff and no where to live, no job etc

When working on a 12 hr Sunday shift, I use my 30min lunch break to rush to church and lead worship, then rush back to work again

I'm lazy and an under acheiver

Same here man. The guy's knowledge was infinite. Which of his books would you recommend? I'm looking into a few. At the moment I'm reading 'The Art of Expressing The Human Body'. It's incredible to see how he approached everyday life, and how he trained his body and ate, purely to build strength and improve function. It's a great read :-)
