Fun thread,

What have you seen him use live? in the last let's say 5 years (up to 2019) ? Personally when I saw him 2 years back I know he was running an old Marshall because a blown fuse delayed the start of the show and I saw it with my own eyes. Had a hard time spotting much on the floor during that gig though. I have seen vids with him using Friedman, Park, Randall here or there (maybe just the light on for optics) but I also wonder if he sneaks in a Kemper or an Axe here or there or uses a rented 800 if there is nothing else? What have you guys seen at the shows you attended? Pics of pedalboards and amps are welcome naturally.

One thing for sure though, his tone is fantastic live. No matter what he is playing, Tele to Lespaul, he always has a cutting yet chunky vintage tone. I imagine he travels with minimal gear because it isn't like playing to 200-400 people every other night is going to warrant hauling a ton of gear. Rental drumkits and amps must be on the menu as well when it is a leg of a tour where they have flown to the first location and then rented a bus from there on.

3 years ago a 4 amp setup Phil x, 2 Marshall’s and a jc 120. Last year had a Marshall 50 which he used and a park. The rack delay he used was redlined the entire show. He had forgotten the packing blankets and he was loud. Stood right in front of him and before the show was talking to his tech, tried to get a pick, said he ones one until he loses it or wears it out won’t give them away.

Used a esp strat and a fender strat with tape over the name and most recently the beat up esp. the tech spent the night with his kamikaze on his shoulder tuning it but never switched. Owning a kami they are heavy I would not hold it all night if it wasn’t getting played

I remember he had this one made for himself.

I read years ago he was using the Eric Johnson Dunlop Jazz III picks. He said something to the effect of, "If they're good enough for EJ..."

If he was still using those, I guess you didn't really miss out on much.

I can confirm that he is stingy with picks, saw some kid ask him for one and he held onto it like it was a block of gold. Said he only had one ...

Yeah normally players give em away like candy. We were at the full throttle in Sturgis for cheap trick and went to the inside bar during the concert. Nobody was in there, 100 people tops. I look at the inside stage and low and behold his tech was sound checking with the kami. I went up and talked to him for half an hour, stayed and watched George play then ran into him jimmy d, and Andrew freeman at the c store at 3 am. Funny I walked outside and ran right into Gilby Clarke

Random Lynch-related:

My 25+ year old Screamin Demon really fattened up with 250k pots (well, one volume and a 333k resistor) and replacing the hexes with another row of flathead filister screws. Bell-like, better bottom/mids/top to my ear. Hexes are clear and punchy but kind of scooped and brittle. Parallel is great too.

I've seen him at a couple of Dallas Guitar Shows, and he used some type of Marshall.
Have y'all seen this?:

Good on them, on their second run already with this one. It's cool but I'd like to wait for one with a bit more voicing options. Mainly, tighten up low end as this boosts all frequencies evenly which can be bloaty depending on the amp.

When I saw his three or four years ago he had a few Marshalls and I think a Randall, he was using delay but I couldn't see which pedal. He used ESP's the whole night. Tone was killer.

Does anyone have the settings for George's Roland SDE-3000 racks when he plays them live?

Recently has had a Powerstation sitting on one of his Marshall's.

I saw him a bunch of times in the 90's in smaller clubs doing Lynch Mob. I remember seeing Marshall amps on the stage. Probably had something else hidden. lol

No idea what he was using live but I saw him with Dokken in 83,84,86,88 and then in 2007 where he was doing one of those guitar clinic type things with Q&A and a set of mostly Dokken songs. That was really cool
