OOPS! I think all I have left are the re-issues that new sensor makes. I think i let my last real nos mullards go in this amp I just sold last week.

I just figured it sounded the best with the tubes I had left in it. I dug this amp outta storage and sent it packing. I never ever got along with those damn SL-X marshalls. :lame: They were a bust for me. :dunno: Got exactly what I wanted for it and away it went. Along with 3 or 4 more amps, I had stuck back in the forgotten room.

You sold that gorgeous SLX :aww:

I've been using Harma hi gain 12AX7's in V1 & V2 of my JCM 800 & DSL, I really like them.

I bought my RFTs here:

http://www.tubemonger.com/SearchResults ... e=&Search=
Thanks for the site. I was getting prices in at $59.00 each from other sites. So this place has it going on price wise if I call them tomorrow and they truly have these at those prices. Thanks again.

Tubemonger is cool. I still have about six Tupperware containers. My fav bar none is the old 32 coded Tesla Rosnov e83cc silver, not gold pin. Second place for me is The Siemens triple mica e83cc. Shield logo Mullards are great in certain amps. High gainers IMO do not like them. Low to mid gain works best with them. Sort of like the RFT el34. Killer powertube for low to mid gain, but falls apart under volume and high gain. Powertubes for me are also the old Tesla's. The Mullard single getter chocalate brown base XF2 are killer for guitar. The dual getters are too hifi for guitar. The old Amperex Bugle boys el34 are reallly nice as well. I know the post is for pre tubes. I had a killer collection. I have 6 of each Tesla miltary silver and Siemens left. They seem to last forever. I test them periodically and they still put out the GM. New production Electroharmonix. The Tung Sols die on me too quickly but sound good. Or should I say, they lose thier transconductance too fast. Chinese have a shrill high end. JJ can't stand them for pre tubes.

The telsa and siemens you speak of interest me . Ya have any idea where those might be found?

Quickrod:
JJ's ECC83s - the stock stuff Scott puts in sound the best in that amp. I've tried different tubes and end up back to these. Typically, I hate JJ's.

Budda SD80:
GT's at the moment. They're still good so I haven't experimented. I may try C9's in there next.

Super Lead:
Tung Sol
C9
NOS Mullard (relabled Philps) - this thing sounds awesome but I think it's on it's way out.

These look authentic. They have the extra mica support. These are the best Siemens imo. Teslas-I'll check for you. I can only find gold pins. They are still really good. I just prefer the Silver for guitar. The Teslas must have the dual getter supports or they are fake JJ. JJ's only have one. I may have purchased from this seller in the past. I bought and sold alot of NOS from overseas. Always use registered mail
