So, as most of you know, I did a trade for one, and while I love it, I just like my Thrasher more. I've listed it here, as well as other places, including Reverb. I dropped the price to $1049 on Reverb, and all I got was 9 watchers for days.

So, is my price out of line? I will mention, it's pretty much in immaculate condition, but no footswitch, (which may be a deal-breaker to some), but I didn't mind. I pretty much set and forget, and use the red channel.

I pulled it from Reverb, and ordered some different tubes. Don't get me wrong, I still dig it enough to keep it, I was going to use the money on another guitar, but wasn't a "need money" thing.

Rectos are just oversaturated in the used market.
I've seen the reg. version go as low as $800.
The MW used to sell around $1200 range but I've seen them go as low as $1000.
The footswitch costs $150 from Mesa and I'd think most would want a footswitch for a 3ch amp... so the buyer will spend $1049+$150= $1199 which is fair, but as I said rectos are just not highly in demands.
I have a MW too and thought about moving it to downsize but I'd rather keep it than selling at the ongoing price.

The Multi-Watt is a killer amp, hard to beat for the money, especially used. Keep it or trade it is probably your best option.

I ordered a warmer quad of JJ 6CA7's for it, and think I'll tinker a bit. It is a killer amp, I just think the stock tubes and super cold bias are holding it back. I just get discouraged with maps I can't bias.

The factory tubes are reading 19mA with plate voltage of 454. I bet it'll sing getting it up at least over 30!

1K for a multi dual or triple is what I see at GC from time to time. With a foot switch.

I sold my Mesa Dual Rec Multiwatt earlier this year for $1800

This is in Australia though where these amps are around but not as plentiful as in the usa. They also cost around AUD $3700 brand new here which is damn expensive

Mesa’s are hard to sell right now. I’ve been trying to sell my older 3 channel Triple Recto for a few months now. I’ve got the price down to $800 and all I’ve gotten is someone trying to lowball for $650. Like you, I don’t need the money. But I wouldn’t mind selling it so I can fund another guitar.

Dont sell it too cheap....wait for the right buyer.

Now that 6 months have passed since I sold the recto, I kind of wish I still had it around for the occasional jam when a I feel like a change.

Warmer biased 6CA7s have a little more mids and punchier bass. It's like taking a 6l6, giving it some mid crunch and tightening the low end without changing anything else.

I did some a/b comparisons and my JJ 6CA7s at 40ma made the stock Mesa 6l6 Str-440 sound hollow and lifeless. (And I'm a big fan of Mesa 6l6 in other amps).

What took me by surprise is they also sounded better, more toneful and clearer than my Svetlana Winged C 6l6.
