Price on a '58 Historic Les Paul

Any ideas what this is worth? Used 9/10 condition

The 58 Historics were about $3,800 and change new last time I checked Mark's Guitar Loft... so, yeah, I agree with Steve. $2,500 would be a good deal for someone (assuming of course that it stays in tune.. )

R8 historics are usually plain tops and go for around 2k to 2400 used depending on the year and condition, this has a flame top and and will bring more cash, daves guitars and a couple other dealers have been doin alot of R8 with flame tops the last couple years. they cost more than the plain top but not as much as a R9. Also in 2001 gibson was using flame tops on the R8.

$3000-$3500 depending on how motivated the seller is. I'm not a big fan of the top on that one, despite it being flamed... it's on the uneven and blurry side. YMMV.

Toss the same question on TGP or BaM Dave....all the late 90's flamed R8's are close to 4k and some up to 6 on eBay...

There are no completed auctions for Flamed R8's....they are not very easy to come by...yeah..plaintops all day long in the 2300 - 2500 range... AAAAA Flametops...not so much...pretty much its an R9 with a big neck...

That looks like one of the earlier ri's that used to be available with a flamed top, they tend to go for more then the average recent issue plain top ri and are nice guitars. I would say anywhere starting at 2500 to 3500. I would jump on this for 2500 if its an earlier issue from the 90s or early 2000's. Much better period for gibson. Other then the thick neck profile these are the same as the more expensive r9.
