Just wanted to get a ballpark figure on what used ones go for. Thinking about picking one up in the near future.

$1700-1850 is what I saw. Actually, I only saw 1800-1850, but I've heard people say 1700
I just bought new, couple hundred ain't worth the possible hassle of used.

$1850 used.

O.K. Thanks guys!!!
But I noticed that they go for alittle over $1900 brand new.

vchizzle made a good point, about spending the extra coin and buying NEW.

If your dropping that much coin and not much a difference.........
Get the new one.

Funny, they hold their value more after 2 years than some of the biggest names in boutique tube amps.

Pretty much all of them. Not sure why, but I dig mine

Well, I just checked...$2000+45 (UPS shipping). Somewhere I read if you;re in california, you have to pay sales tax. That's another $200. By buying it used, at least california residents will save $400. ;)

Get someone outside of CA to buy it for you and then have them mail it to you. ;)

No way would I pay $1,850 shipped for something used that I can buy new for only a few hundred more. Especially something as complex as the Axe. I'd be more comfortable having the warranty.

yeah, I could ask my brother to buy it. he's in Arizona. however, unless the warranty is transferable, the product would be registered in my brother's name and it would be valid only for him.

Just have it shipped to your brother.... tell them you are in the process of moving and haven't changed the billing address on your credit card yet.

Technically you could "move" down for a brief period of time....say, a couple hours? Then go back to Cali

I figured I'd go with the metal version since we are a guitar forum :)

Use your name and credit card. Have "the ship to" be your name but his address. You purchased it. You'll have the warranty. You'd technically still owe "use" taxes to CA in the same amount, but those would be hard for them to collect.

In any case, even if it was purchased in your brother's name, just use his name when you send it in for warranty - if necessary.
