Bought Pagan Gold from one of your own (who also had a green so cal up in addition)supposedly mint. Aesthetically perfect but upon changing strings and dropping to E flat (not by me but a highly qualified RT member) discovered that there was a severe hump in the neck from first to six fret in high E. Unable to fix with a truss rod adjustment.

See pics: https://s1295.photobucket.com/user/shane ... 7.jpg.html?

Yes, I saw the guitar, no I did not play it, no there is no buyer's remorse (as accused by the seller repeatedly through at least 40 paragraph texts over the course of the day and supposedly verified by over 10+ fellow RT members). So the Cliff notes version is that this was a scam by me and my tech is an idiot and incapable (offered his contact information to discuss and test his expertise since the seller, who has Jimmy Page's tech as his own and is obviously a master tech in his own right...but was belligerently refused), the guitar was supposedly received, taken apart screwed up intentionally and reassembled to get out of the purchase. Then requested a PDF of tech ticket for set up although told that the tech is a friend and does not charge me. Then a second tech ticket was requested. Draw your own conclusions as I'm sure at some point there will be a reply that spans several pages (if consistent with the emails and texts that I received over the entire day of trying to deal with this person). Will never do gifted pp again as there is no recourse for shit like this.
As an added bonus, the sale of these 2 guitars was to fund the purchase of a custom shop Vanilla Shake which is mysteriously back on EBay...so I messaged the seller of this guitar and yes the buyer flaked on the purchase. Big surprise

He should send you the neck of the green one, and you return the obvious broken one.

He should take it back and return it to where it bought it from initially.

That neck is jacked! You cannot do that on purpose. Jimmy Page's tech or not. Someone owes you a refund. Hope you paid by Payapal. I would have a dispute in real fast if I didn't hear the right words real fast!

Contact Charvel...they may be able to help you out, probably not for free (sucks, I know), but maybe you can get a new neck that will at least make it playable. Good luck.

So can you meet in the middle? If it's a bad fretboard, that can be replaced. Hell I had the fretboard replaced on my Gibson from an unbound rosewood w/dots to a bound ebony board with traps for about $195 labor included.

Yeah that neck is fucked. You can't out of the blue just create a hump no matter what your setup is like.

Seller needs to take care of it.

This would explain why those two U.S.-made Charvel So-Cals were unsold at the retailer after all of those years.....

Thanks all this far. Can't file a pp claim because it was gifted and as far as meeting in the middle...all I received was NUMEROUS texts and emails stating what an asshole, idiot, scammer, that I was "stuck with it, blah blah blah that I was. Oh and repeated messages of how many fellow RT members agreed that it was a "classic" case of buyer's remorse. Maybe a bad day but no mention of compromise of any sort; just to get a new tech and "enjoy" my new guitar. Did also state that he was in touch who he bought it from and that they would buy it back but he didn't think I deserved it due to being such a pain in the ass. Again, draw your own conclusions.

Another PP Gift disaster. Sorry for your troubles mate, but people that ask for PP Gift will turn me off from a purchase immediately and people that send PP Gift without knowing the buyer are extremely gullible.

edit....but, I wanted to add that Mosh has been around here buying/selling/trading a long time and has a good record. This just seems a bit odd or out of character.

If you used straight PP gift you have no recourse through Paypal. However, if you used a credit card to fund the PP gift transaction you have recourse through your credit card company (i.e., a chargeback).

If you PP gift with a credit card, you get charged a fee as a sender, negating any reason to use PP gift.

Anyways, that is horrible and totally inexcusable on the seller's part and should be banned. People are gonna lose confidence in the classifieds unless sellers like that are banned.

Being that seller has been a good member around here, I think you should get Brad involved.

Shit situation. I never send or ask for PayPal gift myself. Everyone seems to be asking for payment via gift now even on 3k plus guitars.

Brad can't make the guy refund him though. No moderator on any forum could do that.

To your first point I offer cheaper Paypal gift pricing but accept regular Paypal as well.

I am surprised to hear his about moshy's transaction. Never heard of anything like this happening with him before.
