Promotion advice?

Sry. Got the pics out of whack
If you are seriously considering that then as Japetus suggested you need to talk to a music attorney before proceeding further. I think they are gonna give you a raw deal. I'd just focus on a)writing/recording new material b) members who are more aggressive about gigging and c) self promotion. They "work with agents etc etc" so they take you for $7500 bucks and aren't even a booking agency, AND they mention non paying shows.

The old saying "how to make a smalll fortune in the music business, start with a large fortune" applies. Don't be a victim of your own dreams. Only a gullible sucker is gonna hand them that cash. $7500 goes a loooong way towards what you are trying to do. This company can't guarantee you a single gig.

Right. Im just trying to keep my guys from buying into something that won't deliver.

Almost everything you mention, i brought up.

Even talked about getting a recording of a soon live show, a good one.

There are so many things we can do ourselves. We just need make the time to do it and quit screwing around.

That's called pay to play. And then they own your band. Hard hard hard pass!
Yep. I just think if it was a serious company they would've sent someone out to their shows and made an in person contact rather than just hawking their bullshit with an email, lol. They aren't guaranteeing a single gig. They'll help promote ONE youtube video LMAO. You can do that crap yourself. At least if you shell out cash on your own account you know what you are getting. From their angle his 7500 bucks is better spent on one of their higher profile bands because the chance for return is higher.

Exactly. I told my wife that if we actually talked to a promoter and he asked what our practice is like and we say "maybe" two hours a week, he'll just laugh at us.

Hell, our last "new" song which was over a year ago and took way too much time to record was done in house. The "producer" wouldnt get his act together and record and took forever to mix. We can do that on our own now.

Who wants to live out of a suitcase on a bus after age 50 ?

It's a little different, depending on where you live. Social media these days has a huge impact on how successfully you can book gigs though, a lot of clubs & venues (if they give you the time day to begin with) will go straight to your Instagram or Facebook page & not bother if they see you have less than 2k followers. It isn't like that everywhere, some places you can still just put yourselves out there & make connections in the local scene.

If there's a local business that does music promo videos, that might be worth spending a few $ on. We did that with my last band; there's a local company that's really just a couple of guys who did a music video for $600. I wasn't thrilled with the outcome, but it was professional enough visually that we could put it out there. Places that didn't know anything about us had something they could click on and within 30 seconds get an idea of who they were speaking with. If you're gonna go that route though, make sure it's someone who has experience working with similar bands, that you can see what they've done recently.
