ITs gonna drop a LOT more than that. I would guess that supply was controlled by Cliff to keep value up until the new unit was completed. From all accounts it "SOUNDS" like he is cash flow positive enough to lay out a large order and as the new one filters into the market the standard and Ultra are going to drop like rocks. There just isnt a HUGE demand for units in that high of a price range...so if guys are going to get rid of them they are gonna drop... just law of supply and demand. THe demand for the Ultra and standard is gonna drop and the price will also. I would also bet that the prices on the new unit in a year on the used market will be much lower also...as there will be more choices available to guys who just cant bring themselves to pony up the bucks for one.

For the last number of years they really had the market cornered for high end multi-effects box/whatever you wanna call it....but now I think we will see that trend start to go away and there will be a higher availability. (hence a lower price)

Plus there are so many guys pissed off that their used axe fx arent worth what they used to be they are finally off the coolaid and are realizing their tube amps were better anyhow!! LOLOLOL

That's not gonna happen for a long while Stevo.........you should try one though if you get a chance. It destroyed my amp gas for the last 2 years. Guitar gas not so much

Nice guitars! I love my Ibbys. Damn, that bridge is ugly as sin though. I love hardtails though. I wish that guitar was mahogany instead of basswood; I need another basswood guitar like I need a hole in the head.

I actually like the bridge better than the Gibraltar bridges...........but..........I'm with you on the basswood in this case..........I'm a mahogany guy..........it's going back after a 1 day trial..........

Too funny, i always figured there would be people dumping them for 1k or less, why i think its funny is because in alot of threads owners was saying how they will never go that low and i think they was scared it was gonna drop below 1k and they felt the need to keep saying it wouldnt happen so that their investment would hold its value for a little while, certain owners are in denial because they dont wanna see the axe value go down the tubes, seems every thread had a bunch saying it wont happen and if enough people say things like that then theres always gonna be a few buyers that will believe it and pay more but not everybody will be that stupid, i wont be shocked when they are 700 but im sure theres gonna be a few people that disagree, if people are selling them for 1k this week then i dont think 700 is all that crazy.

This could possibly win the Longest Sentence of the Year Award®.

I love the neck on it......it's sounds good thru the Axe-FX but that's more testament to the Axe-FX sounding good with anything. It sounds crappy thru my HD-500 which is what I was going to using it for in my band. I could change the pickups but I'm not going to start that dog chase tail routine. I know what works for me.....mahogany......emg's......I don't need to stray from that formula......besides I have an Mahogany RGA 121 w/EMG's that works for me as it is....I can spend the money elsewhere.....

If G-forces are still getting @ $700, to me the axefx kills the G-force for effects and routing, so the amps/cabs/pedal effects make it worth more than the G-force.

I think it will get down in the $700 range. Main reason is the G Force has not ever been outdone by TC IMHO. There is a lot of TC love for their certain coloring like Eventide so the prices stabilized in that range, actually I have seen them in the $550 - $700 range. However knowing Cliff the Axe FX II will be much better and that alone makes most everybody want it more. Take that and the fact that Fractal is selling them new now for $1299 and I think we will see them below $1000 in the next 90 days if not sooner.

How does the new one compare to the 121? The 121 is/was an awesome guitar, it's a damn shame they discontinued it. I LOVE the plain maple top/mahogany version.

The prices are just getting better and better. Going to be hard to beat a used Standard/Ultra pretty soon. Say what you will about modeling, but the quality of the effects is excellent. I would not mind picking one up eventually for effects and the occasional quick recording.
