Need help: Massive squealing from Mark IV-Axe FX 4CM connection

I'm just super confused. Why not run 4CM using the MKIV loop and then connect the PS to a MKIV speaker out?

If you're referring to this signal chain:

The route I went was guitar -> Axe input -> Mark IV -> Fryette PS-2 -> Axe FX -> Output

The idea is to have both pre- and post-FX. Normally, you'd have send and return jacks also coming into play, but this way would allow the Axe FXIII to both be in front of as well as behind the amp.

Yeah, but I'd do that by using the Mark Loop not the Fryette loop. You're way seems like asking for trouble, but you do you.

If you use the Mark loop, how do you get pre-FX? Just to clarify, this is for a silent situation. I do get that it's asking for trouble though, makes sense.

The same way you're doing now? All the changes is how you connect the post FX. The vast majority of people run 4CM using an FX loop and not a load box.
