I use to have a goldtop ri from 89, it was pretty heavy but by far the best sounding goldtop I have ever come across. Was slash's an 89 or 91 ?

So essentially he is trying to trap the thief! Unless they sold it of course but i wonder what type of legal recourse a person could take if Slash didn't pay and claimed it as stolen property.

Why is everyone thinking the worse? I believe Slash just wants that guitar back. If stolen, it would have no doubt changed hands 10 times by now. Anyway, Slash is a self-admitted clepto in his youth. Stole the leather jacket that became famous and even stole that fucking boa constrictor as well as CD's out the ass. He later went back and paid more than ample restitution to those stores. I don't think he is out to get anyone....just wants that guitar back in the rack for whatever reason.

Stole the famous Caswell Marshall from SIR .... then showed up a year later back at the same studio to record with it where SIR confiscated it.

Maybe Saul getting ripped off was Karma ...
