I figure they will dump a lot of stuff given the buyout.

POD HD X is likely being announced at NAMM. Nothing unusual.

Yes Yamaha bought line6 and plan to revamp the modeling stuff. Looking to compete with the axe fx.

Well if Yamaha can make the PodHD500 sound neutral in 4cm then I would buy it again

These statements always seem to boggle me. I run my HD500 with an RJM MAG, 4CM with my Mark V and it sound absolutely amazing. I'm pretty certain my Mark V's loop level as straight up and the HD500 presets aren't overly complicated. This rig sounds really good with the widebody 1x12 and killer with the vertical 2x12. I've not (yet) had a chance to hear it 4x12, however, I'm certain it would be godly.

As with any 4CM system, there's a balancing act to do in order to get it running well, but it is possible.

I ran effect only and could not dial out the blanket effect. I run other effects through my loop and front of amp without any problems. I used it in my Mk V, Mk III and Bogner. The Axe II sounded great in all 3 of these. Just my personal results and I have read others with the same issues.

Yeah...I've read a lot of others having similar results. It makes me question what I'm hearing, however, I'm really happy with it and do not hear the "blanket effect" so often mentioned.

Recently I ran the 1x12 rig with a drummer and bassist in a brand-new, wide open concrete basement and all three of us were astonished with the tone (individually and collectively). Talking tone only (not playing) it was very Bonamassa'ish. Being the first time I put that rig to work with a "band," I was sooo happy with the results.

Back to the OP - I'm not certain this can be accomplished with the bean, however, that's a great studio tool to have at a good price, IMO.
